Arghhhhh!!! Abit rebates. It took 5 months and 2 phone calls but I finally got it for my IP35-E.

well, it hasn't changed yet. They might have the price-jacker turned off right now b/c of the huge rebate. They probably ordered a bunch of the ix38's b/c of the popularity of the ip35 pro. The problem is that the ip35 pro is so good that most abit buyers will just pay $140 for it instead of $220 for the ix38. now that the ix38 is actually $10 ar cheaper than the ip35 pro (at least until 4/28) the ix38 becomes the "budget" mobo of choice for intel overclocking.

There is no performance difference between the IP35 and IX38 right now. Maybe with the newer CPUs and later BIOS revisions the IX38 will pull ahead but if you already have an IP35 or similar board there's no reason to upgrade.

Even E8400 on IX38 is no difference. IMHO they haven't got the performance level tweaked in the BIOS on IX38 since it's still somewhat of a new board.

I bought it because I didn't have anything that would run E8400

At 1.3875V under the heavyest load I can put on it I see it dip top 1.36 , but hovers around 1.37 or 1.38 back and forth I guess depending on what orthos is doing at the current moment . I guess that's not too bad but I don't have a quad cpu to really load it up. my PWM peak current is about 51A with this E8400 overclocked like this.

The orthos in the screenshot is still going.. 48 hrs :]
