I'm glad you were able to find the manufacturer's website. Their specs are incomplete/out-of-date since it clearly states on the Geeks website that this player supports WMA.

It would certainly be wise to make sure it will play VBR files before buying.
I've emailed geeks sales department with this question.

I have some MP3 files that are 320kbps... apparently these files won't play... not good.

I don't see any need to copy information from one website to another - that's what hyper-links are all about.

I bought.. for $31 shipped, I couldn't resist. I waited two months for Lexar's player that has yet to be released, and have been looking at others since it was further delayed... this thing seems like it'll suit my needs.

Thanks OP

By the way, I bought a Chinese made MP3 player on eBay a while ago, and it says it plays 32 - 256 kbps MP3's and doesn't mention VBR. But actually, it plays everything, including 320 kbps. So the specs are not always accurate.

Many times the specs don't mention vbr or 320kbps but they are usually fine. I had an old koss cd/mp3 player that could play anything except -r3mix properly. It would play about 2/3ds of the song then just start the next one. I suspected that it had an issue with the vbr in that case but other vbrs were fine. I find the -r3mix a good test of compatability. Someone give it a try and let us know.

OOS now. Got the last one w/ 10% off using geekcode from obesebillfold. How much could it possibly suck for $28 shipped.

Just for the record, I don't see any threads on this deal at obesebillfold.

I'll have to remember how slow Comp Geeks is when it comes to their fedex ground. Every time I've ordered something shipped Fedex I usually get my package in 2-3 days, and it's usually the day before its estimated delivery. This package hasn't moved from the "trailer" since it was supposedly shipped on the 19th, and isn't estimated to be delivered until the 26th, and at the pace it's moving that seems to be a far stretch.

Anyone else seen similar results? I realize it says 7 days, but it almost seems like they're intentionally delaying it to make it take the full time.

I thought VBR was part of the MP3 specification. If a proclaimed MP3 player can't play VBR, then it isn't really a MP3 player. Can someone back me up on this?

Thanks.

I got one for my daughter and we were both pleasantly surprised how well it worked. I just bought two more SD cards so the family can all share it using our own SD flash card filled with our own taste of music. I might just buy another when they are in stock...

Got mine today. It sounds fine and is reasonably well made. Doesn't need any drivers, comes up as a USB disk drive like all of them should. You can store data on it. Very small and weighs almost nothing. It won't play the .wma files from my Velvet Revolver CD - no huge loss.

Anyone tried anything bigger than 256MB in theirs?
