Jackass Neighbor At It Again

My neighbor is a complete nutcase. He's in his mid/late 70s and he is constantly annoyed by anything involving people younger than himself. If you park your car in front of his house, he'll call 911 and ask to have someone sent over for "harassment", if you're out in the yard too long he thinks you're tinkering with his lawn, or if you walk in front of his house on the sidewalk you're a trespasser. Recently the jackass installed a civilian version of 'The Mosquito"

Text

Where the hell would you get one of these? The entire neighborhood under 40 or so can hear it, and it's driving people insane. People have been to his home, the police have been around, and the Buildings and Grounds Dept. have even sent a letter. But since none of the police can hear it they can't and have not done anything. What should I do? Should I destroy it? Beat him? Is there any childish thing I can do to gain revenge?

Cliffs:
-Neighbor is jackass
-Installed Mosquito Text
-Nothing has been done by police
-Revenge?

You should move before he does anything that could really hurt your ability to sell your house.

Have a child try selling candy bars to him while you tamper with the Mosquito.

Buy a Mosquito and purposely wire it 180 degrees out of phase so it cancels his out.

At night, when he's asleep with windows closed, kill the mosquito.

Damn, that's pretty psycho. I wouldn't normally advocate revenge but that's about as pointlessly vindictive a thing as I've ever seen.

I hope for your sake he does not have a gun.

Awhile back some older guy shot and killed one of his teenaged neighbors because the kid "harassed" him.

The Mosquito ultrasonic teenage deterrent is the solution to the eternal problem of unwanted gatherings of youths and teenagers in shopping malls and around shops. The presence of these teenagers discourages genuine shoppers and customers? from coming into your shop, affecting your turnover and profits. Anti social behaviour has become the biggest threat to private property over the last decade and there has been no effective deterrent until now.

Acclaimed by the Police forces of many areas of the United Kingdom, the Mosquito ultrasonic teenage deterrent has been described as ?the most effective tool in our fight against anti social behaviour?. Shop keepers around the world have purchased the device to move along unwanted gatherings of teenagers and anti social youths. Railway companies have placed the device to discourage youths from spraying graffiti on their trains and the walls of stations.

With an effective range of between fifteen and twenty meters Compound Security Devices field trials have shown that teenagers are acutely aware of the Mosquito and usually move away from the area within just a couple of minutes. The system is completely harmless even with long term use. The Times newspaper in England reports that the device was first used at a Spar shop in Barry, South Wales, where the owner Robert Gough was enthusiastic about the device's success in driving away the local youths. "Either someone has come along and wiped them off the face of the earth, or it's working" he is quoted as saying.

It seems that there is a very real medical phenomenon known as presbycusis or age related hearing loss which, according to The Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy, "begins after the age of 20 but is usually significant only in persons over 65". It first affects the highest frequencies (18 to 20 kHz) notably in those who have turned 20 years of age". It is possible to generate a high frequency sound that is audible only to teenagers.

HAHAHA that's GREAT. Teenage deterrent ! LOL

easy as pie, just get paintball gun and dark outfit and middle of night hit the mosquito with full force.....or just throw rocks at it (once a night) till it gets broken.

after reading heartless post maybe this is not a good idea.....

Take some pictures of him. That'll piss him off, and it's perfectly legal.

He probably can't hear the Mosquito, so if you know your electronics you could probably rewire it, and he'd never know the difference.

He'd probably kill the child, he hasn't done Halloween since his mom died thirty years ago. If it helps prove his social idiocy, he has never been married or been with a woman.

@ ojai00
None the officers sent over have heard it.

@ J Heartless Slick
He has a shotgun he used to destroy squirrels with until the police came four times. That was ten years ago though.

Oh man, I'd be pissed. He has no right to send sound waves beyond his property line and harm others. I'd probably sue on the grounds that the alarm system damages children psychologically and physically even when they're not near his property.

Personally, if I had kids on that block and they complained of the constant hum/noise and if it hurt them, I'd personally rip it off. Let the guy take me to court and see what grounds he has to stand on.

Oh, but yes, I would be tempted for some major revenge! How about someone sneak up to the telephone box and cut his lines constantly. Or maybe even cut his electric lines without anyone knowing. Hmmm, why not send a surge through his cable line.
Throw stink bombs all over his front door?

For what?

He can do anything he wants to his property.

depends on how often he is useing that device. if he is useing it when kids are on public area that can be harrasement.

I would go over there with a hammer at night, possibly a ladder too, and smash the thing to bits.

dress in camo. Sneak up and snip the wires to the mosquito. Get into his house. While he is sleeping, as soon as he sits up from bed. Drop kick him in the face.

BB gun vs. mosquito. Can't you get little scopes for those too? Pick off squirrels and birds above his house while you are at it. Maybe they'll clog his gutters.

Fire up a gas powered something or other, and set it right on the property line all day long. (especially at 8AM when you go to work)
