NesuD I can respect your post. But a few things I think you and few others need to understand. The purpose of AA was not to give preferential treatment but to insure that minoritys, not just the black ones either, also be guaranteed equal oppurtunitys. Next. There is very foul premise in that when a minority gets a job it is the perception that he is inferior. I would probably guess, its just a guess that 90% of the time that is not the case at all. More often than not the minority is superior in skill. But even though he is superior he was often left out because of his or her race. This is where AA comes in. It causes a company to hire "qualified" minoritys. First of all AA only applys to certain companies that recieve Gov. tax benefits. I work for a privately owned but large company right now and they are not bound by any type of minority hiring policy. And trust me it shows. Out of about 1000 employees, only 75-100 are minoritys. And that includes all races, black, hispanic, asian, etc. Out of 1000 employees. So all these jobs people are getting because of AA is in your imagination. And there are no black upper management and only 1 black supervisor. Another thing, generally in situations where AA comes in at, that black will usually have outstanding credentials. Far and above his peers. If you guys would just look at the corporate world, you see a very serious lack of minority presence in positions of authority. All this stuff about all these black cops getting hired is nonsense also. Here in NJ I guarantee its at least 50 white cops to every 1 black cop. Hell you got whole countys man with NO black cops. On this board very little understanding is truly given to the situation as it really is. A lot of guys are looking at just from their point of view for whatever reason. Then when I a black man comes along and offers a different perspective and disagrees with some of the arguments I quickly am ganged up on. And not every black person has this bulleyes on his back thinking, but we are willing to tell it how it is. And as usual it is not accepted among a lot of whites. We are percieved as being hostile or prejudice, when in fact we just trying to get a point across. That point is, is that racism is still very much in practice today. Most people either deny it, ignore it, or find it unbelieveable that it still is happening. But none the less its still there.
