I am usually the first person to say " I hate pittsburgh blah blah blah".
But damn, they played well toward the end and almost beat a VERY tough Jax team.

GG pitt.

Lol, he's not even the worst Pats* fan on this board.

Assuming someone locks Norv Turner in a closet for SD vs. Tenn, the Chargers should win, and NE will play Jax. I will definitely be watching or DVRing that one. I'm not sure the Jags can stop Moss and Welker, but they should put good pressure on Brady, and I don't think the Pats* D can handle Taylor and MJD all game. Should be a good game.

Yeah, keep using that played out asterisk, fucking dumbass.

Again, Big Ben chokes in the playoffs. Regardless of the comeback, they shouldn't have been in that situation in the first place, with all those turnovers. Garrard better play a lot better than today if the Jags stand any chance in Foxboro (they don't).

"Again" meaning his 2nd career playoff loss? While it certainly wasn't a great game, 337yd with a 69 completion percentage isn't shabby. If the O-line had bothered to passblock, which they haven't all season, it might have been different. Regardless, I don't think many people would call it a choke job.

i would. he accounted for 4 turnovers. and there were many times he held the ball for too long.

but the bottom line is, he caused 4 to's. in a playoff game. at home.

He didn't have much choice given that he needed his WRs downfield and on the sidelines. I agree the INTs in the first half did them in, but the O-line should share more of the blame. You cant let your QB get sacked 6 times in a playoff game. Yeah, he made the bad throws and deserves his share of the blame, but the line letting that much pressure through certainly isn't helping him protect the ball.

It was an issue all season, he got sacked 47 times, and he's a tough QB to sack. People don't say Brady or Manning hold the ball too long because they have great O-lines, they can hold it as long as they like. People say Roethlisberger holds the ball too long, but often he doesn't have time to do anything because the rush is on him while he's still in his drop.

Pats fans still making Raider fans look classy by comparision?

Ben has such a great history of choking in the playoffs He carried them to the SB two years ago with his arm with 3 unbelievable road victories over the top ranked teams, the QB ratings for those 3 games speak for themselves.

ludicrous. brady has a better line but he also doesn't hold the ball forever. he knows his reads and if they're not open, he dumps it. same with peyton. "coverage" sacks, with a smart QB, just don't happen 6 times a game.

alistar- hold your head high, you won the TOP battle!

Don't make the mistake of classifying all Pats fans by the actions of a couple of ATOT Kiddies who also happen to be Pats fans. That's be like calling all Colts fans classless Wankers based on the posts paulxcook.

BTW I was rooting for the Steelers to win as I believe they'd be an easier opponent for the Pats than the Jags. Oh well, I guess to be the best you have to beat the best.

please, alistar always calls pats fans "classless" whenever they don't agree with him or when they call him out on his previous idiotic statements. then he'll claim he has forgotten more football than anyone else will ever learn (original, lol) while delving into the stat books to find little glimmers of hope he can take to bed with him to help sleep better. it's just his thing.

His super bowl win? You, and other Pats trolls made the claimed Ben choked again in the postseason. That's an idiotic statement Rise, just like your assumption that I made that analogy about Pats fans in response to being called out when I wasn't. Of course all those sacks are Ben's fault, everyone knows it is the job of the QB to protect himself, typical Pats fanboi football insight.

He has been sacked @ 50 times each of the past two seasons, that falls on the line. Both the starting LT and backup LT were on IR, they had one other healthy lineman. The 3rd string replacement had no starts in the past two years and only 2 starts in 4 years, he played well but did give up the final sack. Did they win TOP, I didn't even notice. I am sure they won quite a few of the statistical categories but the only one that matters is the final score.

In his 4 seasons Ben is 5-2 with a championship, thats better than most QB's will do over their entire career. Granted he had a horrible first half with 3 picks, but considering they had no running game it's not like the D did not know the ball would be in the air.

He did lead them on 3 TD drives in 8 1/2 minutes in the 4th quarter. If the defense had held the lead Ben gave them it would have been the greatest 4th quarter comeback in playoff history. Is it ignorance, or bias, by the Pats fans when they witness something incredible but still label it the complete opposite. That's a hard call, they seem to have both in abundance. 4 teams have gone undefeated in the regular season, that 4th quarter performance by Ben was unmatched in NFL history.

Again displaying your ignorance regarding football, no wonder people don't take you guys seriously. And yes Rise fanbois like you, Phokus, Capt.Caveman, PaulNE, & SSSnail have no class, you posts in this thread only proved that point. It's just your thing. You just like to bash on other teams and players and try to provoke people. You guys are nothing more than ignorant, classless trolls. I sleep fine at night, and laugh whenever I think of you morans. Your analysis of football is so incredibly stupid it almost makes me feel sorry for you.

It will be a great day when Brady retires and the Pats go back to what they have always been, and will always be once he is gone, nothing more than a joke and an easy win for the rest of the league. One great QB in your team history, other than that you guys are still one of the GREATEST laughing stocks of the NFL.....

Playoff flag that wasn't thrown
Mike Pereira, the NFL's head of officiating, admitted yesterday that his crew working the Steelers-Jaguars playoff game erred in not calling a holding penalty against Jacksonville on a crucial play that allowed the Jaguars to kick the winning field goal.

Quarterback David Garrard scrambled on fourth-and-2 from the Steelers 43 and made the first down. Three plays later, Josh Scobee kicked a field goal, giving the Jaguars a 31-29 victory. Several Steelers players complained there was blatant holding on Garrard's run. Nearly three months later, Pereira agreed with them.

Tomlin declined to comment on Pereira's admission

Reminds me of the BS forward lateral noncall that helped the Pats "beat" Pitt in the 2001 AFC Championship game.

Lol yes, only because of the admission by the ref that they blew the call that cost Pitt the game. I definitely remember the "miraculous" 32 yard scramble on 4th down by Garrard, and wondering why Casey Hampton getting tackled wasn't called.
