Just got back.

The opening sequence did not have any naked girls, unlike the previous 10+ bond movies. It went w/the gambling theme tho.

There were no gadgets. The one liners were few and far inbetween.

the 1st bad guy chase scene was amazing (for the bad guy).

He first drove a FORD. WTF? and they displayed the Ford badge a few times.

The rest of the movie he drove an aston martin.

The movie was meh, till the plot twist. and that only made it ok. It just didnt seem like James Bond.

I did not understand the last frame WHATSOEVER in which he finds the badguy. Can someone elaborate?

I thought it was OK.

It was more like the Bourne Identity than James Bond.

It seemed disconnected at times too but all in all a good movie.

yup.. thought exactly the same thing.. or Mission Impossible

But definitely not James Bond.

And that last scene was stupid (where he finds the guy w/the briefcase). It felt rushed + contrived.

Maybe this will help me convince my wife to go see it since she doesn't like previous Bond movies but did like the Borne movies.

Tell her to go to the bathroom before seeing it.

It's really long.

You have to suspend some belief but its not like there are invisible cars or anything.

Actually, I take that back. I never get that lucky in gambling.

LOL, you didn't like the movie? Well I'm here to spread the word about how Bond is back and in better form than ever (well, recent times at least).

Even the film buff side of me loved it. This is how it's SUPPOSED to be done, not some ridiculously over the top Brosnan piece. I don't think Pierce had to do that many action scenes in all of his 007 movies combined!

I'm...giddy.

The guy at the end is the one that shot (I think) bloody eye dude, and blackmailed the accountant into getting him the money. And, as it turns out, screwed his true love over and she was a good-guy after all. So he killed him, a lot.

Now then, the rest of the movie. I liked the first chase scene and the HOT Indian woman. (my weakness) The rest was OK, but that last 30-40 min was bad, bad, bad. I thought they were doing a dream sequence it was so messed up. WTF were they thinking?

I agree that the ending was the weakest part of the movie, it felt like AI's double ending...but overall, the movie's still great. After all, they had to open it up for the next one...which will probably be a little more streamlined and just as violent

If it isn't like a Bond movie then that means it should have a chance to be very good. The vast majority of Bond movies are all pretty corny and don't hold a candle to the Bourne movies. This movie (despite people being diehard previous Bond fans - Connery...) looks like it could very well be a very good movie.

This new Bond (actor) could very well be the worst Bond but it could just as easily be the best Bond movie.

Who was the Bond girl in this one? I saw Borat last night, and the preview for Bond looked awesome...Think me and a buddy might go see it....

I've seen every Bond movie. My main reasons were to be entertained. They did that.
The theme maybe contrived but that's to be expected.
The toughest Bond was Connery, and Brosnan comes a close second.

I have found that I need that special extra. No time for inaction, my attention span is short, so it has to be kept occupied.

I've walked out of movies that lost my interests. So far, no James Bond movies has ever disappointed me.

I'm looking forward to seeing Casino Royale.

To be honest, I thought it was a bit disappointing. Daniel Craig made a good James Bond, and the bond girl (Eva Green?) was pretty attractive, but I think the formula was changed too much. All of Bond's gadgets and stealthy ninja moves were gone, and was replaced by WAY too much of him playing cards and getting it on with the Bond girl. Sure, the Aston Martin was back, but you saw it for all of twenty seconds maybe, and Bond wound up wrecking it anyhow . I guess I'm kind of used to the previous Brosnan-Bond movies, but I really don't think that this lived up to the other movies. It was a pretty good movie, but it was more of a love story, and not a spy story.

just came back from seeing it. this is how a bond movie should be. fantastic movie. loved it! IMO Brosnan was too suave. A spy should be cutthroat, ruthless and Craig played that role well. IMO he did an awesome job as Bond. The only thing I didnt like about Craig was that he looked like he was always pouting, but I guess thats his natural look.

Also the story was great - a little slow at times, but that broke up the action well. They made a good decision by reinventing Bond. I highly recommend it.

I went from Craig doubter to Craig believer.

Agreed 100%. I'm glad the crazy gadgets are gone, and I like how Craig was a much more "raw" Bond. I think he'll get more suave as time goes on, but still this movie was fantastic. They needed a change from the old Bond theme and, if they continue down this path, I think they've hit the right combination of good plot, good action, and just plain old coolness.

Definately a lot different then the old Bond formula. Less action (IMO) then previouis movies. Also kinda jumpy in that the transactions occured fairly fast. Also the first girl was a lot hotter then the 2nd one. Craig did a good job of being bond.

Also a little confusing in that it advertises as being "how James became Bond" but it seems to occur in 2006 (they have a scene with the date as july 6 06). A lot of the poker scene, perhaps a little too much?

Much like that poker movie, "Lucky You" (which has been delayed for EVER), I imagine that they were trying to take advantage of the poker craze that was still going when they started filming.

One hand, I agree that the poker scenes were a bit much, but on the other hand...if that's the direction they wanted to go with the story/plot/script, then there was no way around it. *shrugs*
