It was a good bond movie. Different. Its supposto show his rookie years. I didn't like pierce as bond, Wore underware up to his belly button and was skinnier than an retired old man.

Better than all the movies Pierce starred in. Possibly even Goldeneye. The actor, I forget his name, did an amazing job. Played the role incredibly well, just didn't quite "look" the part. As tired as I am of the campy movies starring Remmington Steele, Pierce had the right look, although none of them beat Connery. Overall I give the movie two big thumbs up. Great action, interesting if somewhat hard to follow at times. Kind like they tried to twist the story around too much... never knew who the main badguy was as they kept knockin em off. I'd go see it in the theater again.

Actually, my biggest complaint was that none of the female characters really struck my fancy.

don't get me wrong... the character development bits were great: craig is awesome, "bond, james bond" was neat, discovering the drink & car was neat, but man, the actual "plot" was very poorly written.

overall: C+

Those "freedom fighters" weren't the villians only clients. That wasn't a random CIA agent...that was Felix. The "floating around the world" part did drag a bit.

oh man, i completely missed that. that actor got his life made for him for the next 2 or 3 bond flicks.

btw- wasnt Felix killed in one of the Roger Moore's Bond flicks?

and yah, i disliked the way Mr. White came in from left field. and why did he use his real name?

tracking him by the msg left on her cell phone was too easy and stupid.

Funny how this went right by me the first time I saw it. Doesn't matter if Felix was killed already; as this is the Bond prequel (however, Felix does introduce himself to Bond in Dr No...so you'd think they would have met by then...)

Either way, it's not incongruous to use him here. If they include Felix in another Bond film, that could be different. (Of course, depends on if they stick with Bond prequels or just send him back to hi smore experienced set...well, I just hope they leave Q or R, or whoever John Cleese is supposed to be, out of it)

I thought Casino Royale could have had some plot holes filled better. There were gaps and just unexplained "HUH'S?" throughout the movie (I'm not a huge JB fan so I don't know the history and whatnot) but it's far and beyond the "best" James Bond I've seen in recent history. The Brosnan ones were total and absolute crap, save for Goldeneye.

I have no complaints about the movie except for the drawn out ending where we're just sitting there bored out of our minds waiting for the twist to come.

My only question is: Was that scene actually 30 minutes, or did it just feel like it?

I saw it over Thanksgiving weekend, and I liked Felix! But more importantly it had Sony VIAO laptop - just like mine!

Now if only had the '63 DB5 or the new model Aston, that would be sweet.

I was going to write a short review until I saw this. Exactly has what I would have said. Great beginning, but then digs itself deeper and deeper.
I would give higher than a C+ however

Actually no one would have won jackpot. It's usually Aces full with 8s or better beaten by 4 of a kind.

is it just me or did the writers totally blow Act III? After the ball busting torture scene, I had a big on my face until the end of the movie.

Also, I couldn't understand half the things Craig said...his accent is weird.

Chris Cornell's song was meh. Madonna/Garbage/Sheryl Crow/Tina Turner all did a better job IMHO. And I LOVE Audioslave.
Opening sequence with the bombmaker in Madagascar was AWESOME!
Stupidest plot twists ever. The movie just dies in the second half.
Not enough action with the Aston Martin.

The chick was hot
The dude was cool, slick and everything (although he oddly reminded me of Wayne Rooney)
The bloody-tears guy looked like a tranny and there was nothing evil about him

Bond pwned by a chick? Meh.

And I had to wait until the closing credits for the good ol' Bond theme.

The opening sequence did not have any naked girls, unlike the previous 10+ bond movies. It went w/the gambling theme tho.

There were no gadgets. The one liners were few and far inbetween.

the 1st bad guy chase scene was amazing (for the bad guy).

He first drove a FORD. WTF? and they displayed the Ford badge a few times.

The rest of the movie he drove an aston martin.

The movie was meh, till the plot twist. and that only made it ok. It just didnt seem like James Bond.

I did not understand the last frame WHATSOEVER in which he finds the badguy. Can someone elaborate?

your use of the dorkish "MEH" term to describe the whole film was jejune. stick to anime porn and south park films...

the movie was a great introduction for a new BOND...and it was more authentic as others have said...the last few were getting a bit "far fetched"

Casino Royale was edgy with real grit. There were plenty of one liners...and a real doozy when he was having his nuts whacked with the rope. The antagonists were genuine and the women were hot and the settings were elaborate.

The opening scene was amazing....
