The humor was much more sarcastic in nature. I liked the new Bond guy but the storyline was a little hard for me to follow

The plot made sense and there seemed to be a reasonable purpose for everything that was done.

I agree with most of the things you said, especially his vulnerability and the lack of "overt gadget usage." But I believe Bond smiled quite a bit,
*************spoilers************
1) in the Ocean Club, valet scene, when he fukked with the 2 old dudes' Range Rover, he did smile when he was in the security room watching the cameras
2) he smiled when the terrorist blew himself up
3) Eva Green commented about his smile at the hospital (okay, this doesn't count)
4) he LAUGHED when he gots his balls "scratched" (okay, this doesn't count neither)
but you got my point
meanwhile, the plot didn't quite make sense.
************more spoilers**************
1) SMS: if you are capable of engineering a terrorist attack, using SMS (with Caller ID) to transmit action code is the lowest tech move possible.
2) in the musesum back in Florida, where he had a knife fight with Mr. Dimitrius: that was plain stupid. "Hey, look over there [STAB!]"
3) How did that tiny attache'case in the end carry 150 million dollars, when it took 3 Large crate-like suitcase to move 100million in the beginning.

To be honest, I thought it was a bit disappointing. Daniel Craig made a good James Bond, and the bond girl (Eva Green?) was pretty attractive, but I think the formula was changed too much. All of Bond's gadgets and stealthy ninja moves were gone, and was replaced by WAY too much of him playing cards and getting it on with the Bond girl. Sure, the Aston Martin was back, but you saw it for all of twenty seconds maybe, and Bond wound up wrecking it anyhow . I guess I'm kind of used to the previous Brosnan-Bond movies, but I really don't think that this lived up to the other movies. It was a pretty good movie, but it was more of a love story, and not a spy story.

Just got back.
The opening sequence did not have any naked girls, unlike the previous 10+ bond movies. It went w/the gambling theme tho.
There were no gadgets. The one liners were few and far inbetween.
the 1st bad guy chase scene was amazing (for the bad guy).
He first drove a FORD. WTF? and they displayed the Ford badge a few times.
The rest of the movie he drove an aston martin.
The movie was meh, till the plot twist. and that only made it ok. It just didnt seem like James Bond.
I did not understand the last frame WHATSOEVER in which he finds the badguy. Can someone elaborate?
