But if dench is M then Q should be around. I guess John Cleese did not want to be stereotyped into the Q roll.

Cheers,
Aquaman

John Cleese stereotyped???

you're joking, right?

Just because you only see him doing funny walks doesn't mean it's all he does. Underneath the bizarre world of Python, Cleese is a brilliant satirist.

QFT

I also like the very FIRST Bond (George Lazenby) who did the best of all Bond movies "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (the one with Telly Savalas and HOT Diana Rigg) LINK

You can blame George's agent for totally fvcking up his career for shamelessly asking for more money. The producers let him go which then allowed for Sean Connery. Lazenby could have had Connery's career. He was more athletic and better Bond prototype IMO.
.
.
.
Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli, remarked that Lazenby could have been the best Bond had he not quit after just one film.

Actaully I think that Connery was the first Bond in Dr No(1962) and Lazenby's HMSS was in 1969

If you look in Connery's bio....... he left the franchise after 5 movies but

Was paid a huge sum to return as James Bond for Diamonds Are Forever (1971), setting a record. It was donated to his Scottish charity.

Cheers,
Aquaman

Good. Maybe they'll start focusing on a storyline again and not rely on goofy gadgets to run the plot. Gadgets are great once in a while, but when they're so over the top it changes the focus of the movie, they gotta go.

If you watch the old Bond movies, Bond used his brain most of the time, doing things that people wouldn't think he would do in a million years. Now, instead of the creative thinking, we get a bunch of:

"Say...I'm in a cell with the walls closing in on me. I'll just use this laser watch to cut my way out!"

John Cleese probably has so much money it's scary. He is paid millions per film and the money made off of Monty Python alone could carry him and his offspring through their entire lives in complete comfort. He is one of the greatest comedic geniuses of our time and argument on that point is not allowed!

Anyone seen Layer Cake ? That totally changed my opinion on Daniel Craig. I think he'll do just fine.

Of course my vote was on Clive Owen to be the next bond.

I don't think they'd want to rename him James Liverspot:

Richard Kiel isn't in so hot of shape anymore either:

In 1992, he was in a serious automobile accident which affected his auto-balance and now walks using a walking stick or rides a battery powered scooter around if he has to go very far. In the movie Happy Gilmore (1996), he is never seen walking and almost all of his scenes are from the waist up. There are only two full body scenes and both times he is leaning on something. The first is a post, the second is a man.

John Cleese is already set for life, considering he has been a successful movie, television, and stage star for about 40 years.

Connery is still the typical Bond. He had the perfect smirk, the awesome one liners, and is still the hottest guy I've ever seen.

I'm of the opinion that whichever Bond you saw first will determine which actor you prefer as Bond.

Untrue. I saw Tomorrow Never Dies first, and Brosnan is a semi-distant second to Connery, in my opinion.

Yep. Moore was the first Bond I ever knew, and Connery was the best of them all. Brosnan was the #2 guy, but he only got 2 good scripts. Moore turned the character into a cartoon, Lasenby was a jerk, and Dalton was gawd awful.

I think Craig looks fine as Bond.

At minimum this will be the best Bond since Goldeneye, look at it that way.

Didn't Kiel run after Shooter at the end of Happy Gilmore?

Agreed on both counts. This is the first Bond movie I've been excited about since Goldeneye.

Very slowly....with a limp.
