As far the OP, such a tragedy. His music was iconic, and was the soundtrack for so many great films. Aliens and Glory perhaps being two of my favorites. RIP. Great composers are hard to come by.

Very sad news. One of the elite and most influential film composers. Many of his scores outright made the films better: Titanic, Braveheart, Glory, Willow, Apollo 13, Enemy at the Gates, A Beautiful Mind, etc...
