I see that Japan has the same electrical sockets as the US? just different voltage? So I can plug in cell phone chargers into them since they are generally universal?
Booked a tripped to Japan for about a week, Landing in Tokyo (NRT) on July 19th and Leaving from Osaka (KIX) on the 27th.
Havent booked hotels yet, any tips from anyone that has been on what to do? where to stay? It will be me and a friend. I am going to pick up a travel book to do some research but also hopping someone that has been can give me some pointers!
Thanks!
Only 8 days that is not worth it?
Just different voltage. American to Japanese works but Japanese to American needs a converter.
No they don't. Well, not sure but I've never needed any for products I've gotten in Japan.
They will work, but you could be damaging the item depending on what it is. Some things are designed for a range of voltage and will be fine, but things like a rice cooker/hairdryer/etc, I would be very careful with.
Visit a love hotel over there too, only 3-4 hours. =D
Any suggestions on getting a rail pass? from what I understand its 300$ for a week. Not sure if we need it everyday, but will need to get from Tokyo to Osaka which one way is 180~$ ?
