If this happened in the U.S., there would be a lawsuit against the match maker.

I dispute the allegation that the man was trying to put out the fire. I saw him set the fire, I saw him move the fire, I saw him stoke it with cardboard, and I saw him give it a glass of water, but really no sense of urgency there.

Any idea why he didn't initially carry it to wherever he was getting the water from? The whole "let's move the fire over here for no good reason" thing is mystifying.

Saw it earlier, commented earlier, but holy shit, ya, let's put the flaming item into the pile of debris to give it even more fuel. If that doesn't work, let's throw it into a corner.

At least he got to enjoy the toxic gases from the burning plastic...

These child men from Japan are good for a laugh most of the time. Not so much when it involves killing innocent people.

What I said in the other thread.

Stupid ass! No fire is too small for the fire Dept. as soon as you have one stop everything and call your emergency number! Plus they have FLIR to make sure there is no hot spots.

LOL such failure. The instant it came to a point where a pot of water was not enough to put it out he should have called 911, but I don't understand his lack of urgency in the whole thing, it could have been put out. He also should have used a fire extinguisher. Every house should have at least one in a location that is unlikely to have a fire, such as a closet near the exit. (don't put it in the kitchen)

I like how you can hear what I presume is a ghast in the background from his Minecraft game and he stops at the computer for a sec, probably to say "brb fire". lol.

Since the fire was initially movable, he should have just ran to the bathroom with it and put it in the bath tub and run the shower. No idea why he just moved it along with a bunch of other fuel. Sooo many things he could have done lol.

The whole ordeal reminds me of this:

That's bad, VERY bad advice. All kitchens should have a wall mountable ABC extinguisher. Grease fires happen. In fact, by code I believe a lot of rentals are required to have an extinguisher in the kitchen.

I have extinguishers in all main rooms, including in the kitchen and next to the fire place.

I was a fire fighter explorer.

I don't understand all your surprise/confusion.

Today you're a genius for knowing that water can put out fire. The average American IQ is lower than that.

Was that guy mildly retarded? That was awful.

Don't use that term, man. It's derogatory... you now use the term "intellectual disability." I agree, that person appears to have an intellectual disability.

And if your fire extinguisher is in the kitchen, which is on fire, it will be hard to get to it. You want it nearby but not actually in it. Depending on the layout you can have it in it but just not near the stove as that is the most likely place for a fire.

If you translate the rest of it you'll notice this was Japan's version of the fire challenge and those voices told him to light the fire. I hate when the voices tell me to light things on fire. Just kidding.

This thread got me to look up carbon dioxide fire extinguishers and why they don't cover class A fires when class A fires seem to be the simplest... We don't have an extinguisher but I'd only be interested in a CO2 one to avoid a mess -- may as well let it burn if I have to clean up powder/foam?
