Agreed. Asian/black is hot too. Often racial hybrids make very attractive people. One wonders if that hybridization also affects vigor. Perhaps by being such an insular society, Japan is becoming less viable.

I despise our "diversity in skin color" for its own sake cultural tendencies, but diversity does have its benefits.

I've wondered what the Japanese attitude towards Japanese Brazilians are in Japan. Really I can't think of two countries that are more polar opposites than Brazil and Japan. Being Brazillian I can tell you that the Japanese Brazilians in Brazil are treated with curiosity, wonder and respect.

Not only has it already been raised, but the main issue in this story is not the birth rate, it's that so many people aren't having sex at all.

maybe culture wise they just don't see the need to be dependent on another person. maybe marriage isn't on top of their list. It's like European countries say Italy, many people don't choose marriage or see it as a big deal. it's probably a cultural thing.

also from some friends been to Japan, people there don't really like to have too many children. they are also more career and self oriented in lifestyle.

I wonder if there is any connection between this and Japan's remarkably high suicide rate.

I'm a lot more emotionally stable when I'm in a relationship, and I don't think I'm a minority.
