Java 7 Update 45 released

Funny story. After Java stopped allowing our 300+ users from being to acess our ADP server, we tried this new version and on SOME machines we still had the same issue.

The issue? Java popping up and saying the version is out of date and blocked an ADP applet from running.

The Fix from ADP? Go into the Java control panel and turn security settings down to MEDIUM! *rollseyes*

My first thought about some users still getting an "update" notice after updating is them having more than one version still installed. Or, having Java FX installed. That used to give me the "update" notice all the time. I removed it, and no longer get the notice. Might be different for a collection of users like you have, but just throwing it out there.

Another reason why this might happen is, let's say you have both the 64 bit and 32 bit version.

Let's say you have Java Runtime Environment 7 Update 40 for both x64 and x86

The updater will then inform you there is an update to 45

So you hit the update button and let it do its thing, but it only will update the x86 version leaving the x64 version alone and vulnerable! and you will still be notified of an update available but it is for the x64 version, hitting the update button won't do anything

This is very messed up and this has been the way the updater worked since years

That's why I always update manually and disable the update checker from startup, useless piece of crap

It's not the updater that gives us the message. It's an actual security warning.

I'm remoting in to some PCs right now to fix the issue. I will take a SS of it so you guys can see it.

Try going into msconfig, startup tab and uncheck "jusched".

you have to disable Javashedul from the MSconfig auto start items

if i remember correctly, there is a "corporate" version of the java installation that you can only get through support that does not have the security nag.
