Even though Flash is unavoidable for me, I have stayed away from Java as best as I can. Why are these two software programs so insecure and buggy?

yeah i'm not sure exactly why these programs have quite so many vulnerabilities even these days...

One of our banks require Java to be running in the browser. It must Java 7 update 11. Anything newer and the site doesn't work.

I guess the good news is that only the accounting department requires this old version of Java to be installed. :hmm:

Many of the websites I visit require Java, never had a problem with it.

But what's interesting, is whatever happened to the skipped updats? They released Java 8 like 10 days ago, then they jumped to update 5?

whatever happened to update 1, 2, 3, and 4?

The only problems I have read about were XP users. It's been fine for me on Win7 and Win8.1. I figured that it should be more secure than Java 7, but that is wishful thinking perhaps.

Yea, what is up with that. I have a client that is in the same thing. If you go too new it wont work. except I have to balance 3 banks and they seem to want different things
