Just out of curiosity why do you need Java. I've never needed it and uninstall it from any PC I work on. Maybe I'm missing out on the internet but I just don't see how it's worth the risk.

Someone asked this question last year and I found out that I didn't need it after all. Sure some good interent speed tests use java but I decided it wasn't worth the risk plus the time needed to keep it updated and re-configured.
