Greetings.
Anyone know of any good java books? I'm a somewhat experience programmer in the languages of C, Python and Assembly so programming and computers isn't something horribly foreign to me. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good java books that get right to the point and offers good example code.
I?m currently taking a class on object oriented programming through java and the book we use, in my opinion is horrible. It?s ?Java an Introduce to Problem Solving & Programing? by Walter Savitch. Now, I?m sure this really good book for a high school student or someone just getting into programming but I?m a sophomore in college and I find this book too non-technical. I'd also like to note that Sun's Java API is OVERLY technical.
Thanks.
