I just ordered two of these through the OfficeMax here in Central Texas at 76522 (zip code). I have no idea how many are still in stock, but for those still looking for these, they seem to be available. I purchased this drive last year when CompUSA put them on sale and I have zero complaints about this drive. Mine is a rebadged plextor. Don't know if the ones this year are the same. Anyway, these will make some great (and read cheap if you like) chirstmas presents. I got my rebate last year, and I'm hoping for the same on these.

Mine is shipping on 12/05/01. Total came out to $48.19 with shipping (Im in los angeles). Still a good deal considering im going to use the $50 mail-in-order rebate from Iomega. Good deal thanks for the post!

I guess you were offering your own "interpretation" or perhaps "paraphrasing" from somewhere else on the website...BUT I'll quote the Customer Service page explanation about status CBO:

Backordered items or CBO items will be held for seven business days. If after seven days we are unable to complete the order, you will be notified that we are canceling those items.

if you ordered stuff in addition to the two cdrw drives for the coupon, do you get to keep that stuff for basically free due to the coupon or what? cuz if they cancel your order then you should be refunded approx 80 bucks, which is around how much u were charged in the first place, right?

will they send out a $50 rebate on something you paid $40 for
some rebates bring a price down to "0", but this is first time I've seen -$10

I think the CBO order not shipped is to differentiate between an order that has been CONFIRMED and
an order that is confirmed and shippable, so people dont jump to wrong assumption
whether or not it actually ships is up to supply available

the fact this drive is discontinued does not bode well for success here

Well according to my email and my receipt at the time of purchase, both drives I ordered had status code OPN. Online tracking has status CBO, but I still have an expected delivery date of 11/27. We'll see.

Ordered one and says it will ship Dec 5. I hope this comes. Anyone know if they will ship FedEX or UPS? It didn't give me any options and charged a $5 shipping fee. PLease let me know. Thanks. btw, I already have the Iomega 4x4x24 and the 16x10x40. Both are solid drives, but thought it would be a steal to upgrade to the 12x CDRW for free or even making $2 in the deal.
