OK, when I refreshed this time, now they're different. But I captured the screen before I refreshed. I'm not crazy!!!!!

That was wierd....
I took a screenshot too. But I wasn't dumb enough to empty the cache for the new images. Anyone want to put up a screenshot with all the new pictures?

OK, next question.

Remember the Chevy Monza? It was the successor to the Vega. The Vega had the ill-fated aluminum four-cylinder, what came in the Monza?

I know most came with 4 cylinder engines, but I had a friend in HS that had one with a small factory V8. Don't know the size of it though, I remember it was smaller than the 305, maybe a 260?

The Monza came with 2.5L 4-cylinders, 3.8L v6s (maybe 3.3 also??), 4.3L v8s, 5.0L V8s, and if you lived in a high-altitude area, you could get the 5.7L V8! There might even have been other V6s and V8s, there were a lot over the years. But the 5.7L V8 was the biggest.

I think it was only the V8 models that required lifting the engine a bit to access one spark plug.

Since you said 'Corvette' is closer, I figure you're talking about the Corvair Spyder turbo. IIRC, they started in '63.

OK, the Olds Jetfire with the turbo 215. Had water injection because they didn't lower the compression for the turbo application

What was that, '63?

it was nascar 1964 or very late 1963, chevy wanted to win big so they put out a bunch of 427 W motors
they start off leading race pulling away from the others, they all blew and not one finished the race every one blew the motor
GM top brass was so mad and embarrased, they pulled the plug on factory nascar sponsoring

a few people claim the saying started with the 409, but after that race every one was saying "fast but will not last"

How about that. I never heard that saying before about the Z-11 427! Learn something new every day...

The Spyder came out in 1962, 150 hp, 145 CI, in 1964 Chevy stroked the flat six to 164 CI but the rating stayed at 150HP, in 1965 Chevy revised the turbo with a larger impeller thus increasing output to 180HP, this engine could now only be ordered with the Corsa model, the 4 carb version also came out in 1965, this developed 140 HP compared to the mid output of 110 HP while the standard Corvair engine was 95 HP.
