Chief Operating Officer Leaves Jeb Bush Campaign.

As Republican candidate Jeb Bush's favorability ratings continue to sink, the campaign's chief operating officer has decamped. COO Christine Ciccone is the highest-ranking employee on the campaign to depart so far, reported the Wall Street Journal.

Bush's favorability rating has plummeted since June. No other candidate's favorability among Republicans has fallen as sharply in that time frame, reported Five Thirty Eight.

Referring to Bush's campaign logo, the Daily Wire wrote "the exclamation point is gone."

Pundits described the campaign as terminal.

I read she actually left weeks ago but the campaign is just now announcing it. But I don't think that changes or affects the point of your OP. I suppose she saw the 'writing on the wall' weeks ago and decided to leave.

I got to thinking about how close the Bush family is with the House of Saud. With that in mind, I was wondering, given Citizen's United and assuming that it is legal for foreign funds to be donated to PACs , if Jeb Bush was getting PAC donations in the $millions$ from their good friends in the Arabian Peninsula.

If that's the case, then Bush can hang back as long as he likes and really come on strong in the home stretch months.

Big reach with no evidence. Play nice.

So who's the new establishment candidate? Marco Rubio?

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm wishing Romney would run.

Jeb can't think on his feet. He has his rehearsed lines and when another candidate attacks him he just stands there not knowing what to say. He may be a great manager and delegator but he's not good at debate.

Agreed.

Repubs are in terrible disarray & really have been since it all fell apart for them in 2008.

Instead of admitting that their policy has shown some shortcomings, might need to be tweaked a little, they've just fanned the flames of rage & resentment.

They did so quite brilliantly in 2010, no doubt, used victory to entrench that bitterness in heavily gerrymandered districts & any other place they could. In the process, they over-promised to the most radical elements in their base, strung them along, fed their delusions & it's starting to catch up to them.

They've empowered extreme & rigid minority positions whose adherents constantly throw themselves against the walls of reason, who'd rather break the govt than see it run any way other than the way they want. They don't want to solve problems through democratic means- they just want to fight, tear down anything and anybody who gets in their way.

They stymie constructive majority compromise & action.

The Party apparently wants to keep their votes, no matter what, so they can't be honest. They can't say "That won't fly with the majority of Americans so you might as well forget it." They can't even admit they might have made any mistakes at all. They can't admit that they need to alter their headsets to better deal with the negative aspects of a reality they've shaped in no small way.

If Jeb bows out, their choices for Prez run from dismal losers to pure suicide.

Well, since you put it that way, I agree.

Although, something tells me Bush is somehow going to hang in there when it seems like he shouldn't be able to.
He has raised a ton of money so that alone can keep him participating and running ads. I wonder if his money is no longer flowing in though, probably slowing down.

Don't think that I don't agree. There seems to be next to no audit process to determine where PAC money comes from and honestly do you know anyone who donates to a PAC besides one involved with your job? Where does the money come from is it mostly a bunch of rich guys? I'd bet nearly every PAC has accepted foreign money in some way but it hasn't been proven.

Regardless as for the polls of the people, his campaign will survive so long as he has money. If moneyed interests decree that he is to be a contender, than he shall be, public opinion be damned. Though if said interests decide to back another pony, he's doomed.

I'd correct your reply to read, "Regardless as for the polls of the people, his campaign will survive so long as he has other people's money.

I've been thinking that I would rather have virtually any former President than any of the current crop of candidates. Hillary, really? Trump, really? I can't take any of it seriously.
