Only heard this news today (Foxnews.com if you can believe it). Driving home, turned on Ozzy's Boneyard on SiriusXM and Dead Skin Mask was the first song I heard. Next up was South of Heaven.
I remember back in th3e 80's being the only kid in my school who listened to Slayer (kind of a small school). I was scared and excited about Slayer's music every time I listened to them. It was captivating and provocative and for a teen in a small town, it was quite different from what most everyone else listened too. Yeah, Metallica was getting very popular. But Slayer, Exodus, Suicidal Tendencies, DRI, Flotsam and Jetsam, nothing were like them. I still cling to this music because I know it's time get's shorter and shorter. There just aren't many speed metal bands around nowadays...and it's very sad.
