Quite the cast of power brokers in Epstein’s orbit...Clinton, Trump and...Prince Andrew? I’m guessing that powerful people will still avoid any serious repercussions from this, and it’s all a damn shame. I’m convinced that Epstein skated the first time in an effort to avoid him naming names.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if SDNY suddenly dropped charges after a phone call from Cuomo (cashing in favors for rich donors) or if career prosecutors aligned with Spitzer muddled the case.

I would expect that conservatives and alt-righters will pursue this with the same zeal as pizza gate (especially if it implicates Clintons) but I won’t hold my breath.

Edit: Just saw that Epstein is only being charged with a two counts; 1 of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, and 1 of sexual contact with a minor. Not sure if prosecutors are still holding additional indictments/charges close to the vest? Not sure they’re going to nail him with single counts of each crime—or maybe this was just enough to arrest him at the airport on arrival from Paris.

You can bet that powerful choke chains are being furiously yanked on at the moment. If there is an organized crime component to this situation then it will take some miracle of miracles for any real justice to be meted out.

I imagine that anyone connected with prosecuting Epstein will be compelled to take proper precautionary measures to mitigate any kind of threat to themselves and loved ones.

Having to deal with sending to jail high level very wealthy personalities with firm connections to the power brokers and the folks they recruit into politics is like paddling a canoe down a very treacherous and long stretch of rapids with little chance of making it out unscathed, let alone in one piece.

I really do hope justice is done no matter who it incriminates, but from a realistic point of view, chances are slim for that to happen.

Just going off my gut here...I get the uncanny feeling that Clinton may have more to lose than Trump if Epstein starts singing. Seems he took more flights and actually visited his private island, while Trump had fewer flights and did not visit the island. There is also that anecdotal story of Trump barring Epstein from Mar a Lago for improper advances to a member’s daughter—though it hasn’t been verified.

Either way, I don’t care. Nobody should be getting away with abusing young girls, no matter how rich or powerful.
