Your flaw here is that there are more than two choices. You can choose to try or not to try, but, when you choose to try there is many different paths to go down. You can also choose to try and dismantle the barrier.

That is one of the points made in the second video early on. In 1960 only ~20% of African American children were born to single mothers. Today that number is north of 70%. The follow up was, if this isn't a culture problem (as opposed to racism holding some minority demographics back), is America more racist today post civil rights or less racist?
