Not a good idea. Encourages the front car to jump the light off the line. You don't have the natural reaction delay to help you not get into the accident with the car running hard to make the yellow light.

The only thing that comes to mind is the massive influx of turbos on shitty cars and the lag that comes with them. This gives you the knowledge of when to start revving so you're not sitting there green doing nothing.

But generally, I don't see this as a positive change in traffic light systems.
