If it's purely because they are the only ones on that island, that'd be a pretty unfunny reason that doesn't explain any of the missing humor. Assuming that isn't it, why are they on what appears to be a deserted island anyway? Is that a beer bottle or a paintbrush?

It's like a picture of Death confronting someone who wants to live and being told to "Go away!" I don't see how placing either unfunny scenario on a desert isle with a message in a bottle changes that.
