To be fair, it's more a result of desperation than greed. (with the exception of EA, they take it to a whole other level) I mean in the 90's you got a complete game with Street Fighter 2. But it ran you $70-80. And 90's dollars that's like $100 something. A far cry from the $60 you pay today. Development costs are much higher in modern times as well and studios have been going under left and right. Tough times indeed.
