Tickets to all blocking the intersection.
Ticket to motorcyclist for reckless driving.
A non-douchebag motorcyclist would have proceeded slowly with caution.

We have a winner!

Think I found a better pic of the douche on the bike...

No. Just...no. He does not have right of way, he is in violation of law. A quick look at MA's law here:

\

Texas:

Your reasoning mechanism is broken. We do not see the leadup to how the white car ended up in the intersection. Therefore we cannot draw a logical conclusion on whether he was there legally or illegally.

However - this thread is for pictures, so I'm done now.

It's not so simple, there are exceptions.

http://www.powerstaylor.com/texas-traffic-law-quiz/

You legally enter the intersection because you have a green light. You are unable to turn because of conflicting traffic (people who have a green in traffic opposite of you), you are supposed to wait IN the intersection until that traffic clears (light changed red), and complete your turn.

The traffic on the perpendicular direction who just got a green are required to wait for the intersection to clear before they have the right of way per 544.007 (b), which is what the motorcycle failed to do.

If you don't do this, you could end on in the left turn lane forever in rush hour traffic. I have sat behind someone for 3 light cycles because they wouldn't take the intersection.

edit: sorry folks, missed this was the pic thread...

There's enough info in that to see multiple drivers are in violation. There are 4-5 cars blocking. It is REALLY that simple in this instance (even with the exception for entering an intersection to turn - you cannot be blocking on red in that instance as well. IE, you cannot simply sit in the middle of an intersection through a light cycle.

Lack of a second/closing parenthesis - like fingernails on a chalkboard

I know of some huge intersections where that simply wouldn't work. Even with constantly moving traffic, practically every person going straight-through would need to come to a near stop to assess the other side. People in the oncoming turn lane would see that as an opportunity to turn through and the person going straight would end up having to stop completely...at a green light...with lots of people behind. Then, the stream of turning cars from the oncoming lane would never stop until the light changes or you DRIVE INTO THE INTERSECTION.

Roundabouts are awesome. They solve all of these problems and drastically reduce congestion.

If following the law, no. Left turn yields to straight when there is no arrow; right turn on red also yields to people with a green light. Not saying this is what happens, but it's how it is SUPPOSED to happen. Just like no one obeys the rules at a 4 way stop. And people treat yield signs like stop signs.

I guess what I'm saying is that 80% of all people on the road shouldn't be allowed to fucking drive. If cops would stop being useless lazy fucks and try ticketing for infractions other than speed, people might have better awareness of the rules on the road. But instead they sit on the side of the road doing the lazy thing - waiting for the radar gun to beep at them. (I mean, jesus. I have seen a dump truck carrying gravel, piled up over to the top of the sides of the truck without the load covered drive RIGHT PAST a state patrol car without even a second glance. It is unlawful to drive without a covered load in WA, and it should be REALLY fucking easy to enforce it. I-405 up here in the Seattle area is COVERED in rocks. I just don't drive it anymore, after having to replace my windshield twice in 4 months.)

tl;dr: I fucking hate traffic cops. They're lazy assholes.

RE motorcycle dumbass: I don't remember the code and don't feel like looking it up...

In California there are two parts to the code on this specific issue.
A. Follow the law
B. If someone fucks up and is blocking the way even though you have the right of way, you have to wait till they clear and can't go plowing through them.

The truth of that makes it more sad than funny, IMO .

P.S. What's up with page 1819 (previous page for me)?
