It's NYC. It's in the continental US. You get in a car and drive there, or get on a plane and fly there. It's not really any more difficult than going to Chicago, or Omaha, or Las Vegas, or...

I drove from Sacramento to NY. In Evanston we blew a head gasket. It took 3 days and a ton of what money I had for the trip. Ran outta money in Nebraska. Had to sit for a day waiting for a western union. Then got hit in Ohio and totaled the car.

I grabbed all my clothes I could carry and hitched the rest of the way. It was hard as hell and I slept in a ditch one night on the way but I met some cool people and wouldnt trade the experience for anything.

Thoughts on this:

1 - "I bought you dinner so now you should have sex with me" <- Why not simply buy a prostitute's services? Quicker and easier.
2 - "I only buy dinner for women so they'll have sex with me" <- Healthy relationship with the opposite sex you have there! /s
3 - If the woman picks up the bill, do men who buy into this scenario get all nervous because they think there's a strap-on involved at the end of the night? If a bit of pegging isn't desirable to the guy, does he run screaming out of the restaurant at this point?
4 - If the man picks up the bill, should the woman feel obligated to have sex with him at some point? If she doesn't have sex with him soon enough, is he going to get pissy about it? Is this really the atmosphere of enjoyment and getting to know someone you were aiming for?
5 - I'm sure that Blue_Max has some statistics handy about the frequency of "pretend to like a guy in that way, agree to have dinner with him then turn him down after he's paid for dinner" because reasons, or perhaps, "post dinner regret".

Overall, the author of this meme makes me think "creep factor five".

I was certainly thinking more along the lines of, "she doesn't want to date me... I'm not rich, I don't normally pay for my friends' dinner, so I won't be paying in this instance either."

If you aren't dating a girl (or interested in getting in bed with her), why would you pay for her meal? It's not just about, "well there's no sex involved, why would I pay?" - unless you frequently pay for a friend's dinner, why would you be picking up the tab in this scenario?
