I have questions. Was she the only one on the escalator? If not didn't she see people just walking up or down once the power went out? A lot of escalators have stairs right next to them which look almost identical to stairs they are just usually a bit wider, couldn't she have picked up some tips from them? Granted all of those questions can be explained with her nose being firmly aimed at her phone the entire time but exactly how dumb do you have to be not to realize that one foot slightly elevated or lower depending on the direction would have gotten her to freedom?
