Sounds like my Dad.
He was having a slow building heart attack and just tried to push through it. His left arm was killing him for weeks. Started getting chest pains pretty bad and could not sleep. So did he go to the hospital? No, he went to work as he is a self employed auto mechanic. When he got through his day and realized he still felt like shit, he decided to do to the hospital. They realized what was happening and rushed him in. His heart stopped twice while on the table.
Another time he broke his hand at a softball game. They had no backup players, so he finished the last 3 innings. He broke his left hand so he put his glove on his right, and would stuff the glove in his arm pit to extract the ball and throw. He never had to bad because of outs, but yeah, he is special.
Oh, and he reset his own broken leg because he did not like how it looked when he was waiting for the ski patrol to come get him.
