He isn't and i think he's constantly trying to be clever but failing miserably every time.

When it comes to humour though, the US is stuck in their "we need to take this UK series and exaggerate it to a point where Americans get it" phase and have been since forever and it's BORING as hell. Will and Grace, Just shoot me, big bang theory, American version of The Office and other UK comedy series.... You really should leave it alone and just pay Brits to do it proper for you because it's embarrassing to watch you fail so hard every single time.

If the US remade Life of Brian it would be the most boring film of all time.

we've adopted, maybe, about 10 British shows.

All but one of them have completely sucked (The Office)--which was far better than the British one, though I do like Gervaise. The reason we don't adopt nearly as many shows as you assume we do is because most of them suck balls.

Further, you're neglecting the all-too-important aspect of our humor: poop and fart jokes.

You think that post was intended as humour? I guess they are right about what they say about American stupidity.

Holy crap! Hal finally posted something funny.

Hal calling Zin stupid = fucking hilarious!

It all gets smoked back into the atmosphere...
false.

Most of it is absorbed by the lungs of the consumer.

Spotters fail all around. That one at the end at least made a little bit of effort, approaching a dive but not really.

True spotting, when people are flipping/falling, in a way where you aren't directly under them the whole time, can be difficult. Coordinating a massive team of spotters, even more so. Doing all that when almost all of them are not showing any degree of "pounce" in them, that "I can be on the move as I'm witnessing it" urgency of motion. You have to have that when risk reaches a certain point (and it is something that can be spotted, of course).

They should have understood from the beginning that going too far was a possible result, and they should have planned for that with a contingency: is it happening? everyone help slide the mat!
And someone should have been standing at the ready just clear of the mat at the end (probably two).

Then again, when you participate in military obstacle and team-based problem-solving courses (and also have helped run them), you think about this kind of spotting a little differently.

QFT...that is the problem...the people that can't do, become spotters and fail. The people that can do and volunteer to become spotters, don't pay attention or possibly hope to push themselves forward when their teammate gets injured.

I have been hurt myself by bad spotters quite a bit. Their explanations are enough to want to cave in their skulls.

Not to go all P&N on this thread, but... yeah if people died earlier in their lives we would have less of a fiscal problem in this country than we currently have.

We used to assume that things like smoking and the resulting death had a negative impact on our health care system b/c of associated costs. Turns out, longevity actually costs a lot more money. Oops.

Edit: And just so my thread isn't completely w/o merit, I repost the following .gif for those of you who missed it the first time:
