Let's assume that the story is mostly true. Let's also assume that the new tree is the old one's "first born," male heir. Personally, I'd want to see a DNA comparison, but you know, why sweat the small shit.

This is of interest to me since the land my house sits on extends back to an old milk road. It had been disused for at least decades but it was still apparently deeded to the town and over the years, people have subdivided their property and sold the additional space as building lots which then abutted this old road.

I guess for the price of paving the old road, people were then allowed to build on these lots and mine is now the last one that hasn't been subdivided.

So, I don't plan on going anywhere soon but if at some point I decide to sell, I think I'm going to put a restriction in the deed that prohibits subdivision. Why? Well, it's a quite lovely wooded area. I never go back there any more but I have very fond childhood memories and I think it would be a shame to deprive future generations of the joy such things can bring.
I just want to see how they have been paying the property taxes.

I need to watch some Robot Chicken, it's been a while. Some were kind of dumb of course, but many were side-splitting funny. The stop-motion was pretty good.
I sort of liked Robot Chicken, but not enough to try to follow it. Adult Swim tends to pick things that seem to be just bizarre for reasons. One series that I still record but don't really watch all that often is Mike Tyson Mysteries. I also happened to notice "The Venture Brothers - Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart" in the schedule. I did like that show initially. Not sure what happened. Anyway, probably won't make it thru the entire 2 hours (with ads)

If by "try to follow it" with Robot Chicken you meant any kind of chronology or continuity, there was none. They were all just the random shorts you remember, some as short as a few seconds and maybe one line of dialogue.

Venture Bros. was pretty good imo and definitely had more cohesiveness to the story. Ask @kage69 lol.

Yeah, don't know that I agree. What is an "expert" anyway? What determines who gets classed as such? It's largely a social and political category, a status that is very often awarded as a consequence of social, political, and economic factors, so it usually _is_ indoctrination and elitism. Information and education is something that gets distributed on the basis of power and wealth.

How about the "experts" who signed off on inflammable cladding on buildings?

Or the ones who labelled junk mortgages as 'triple-A' rated?

Or the ones who declared in court that the Post Office's Horizon cash system was infallible?

The ones who declared that Iraq had WMDs?

Or the ones who downplayed masks and emphasised hand-washing at the start of the pandemic?

The list goes on...

It's a pity that in the US it's the (mostly racist) right who have monopolised distrust of credentialed experts, and hence the left have ended up as a bunch of technocrats, fervently defending the class system. "Experts" are a class, and they tend to look out for their class interests.
