Code:
              1,000 = 1 thousand
          1,000,000 = 1 million
      1,000,000,000 = 1 billion
  1,000,000,000,000 = 1 trillion
$41,000,000,000,000 = 41 trillion.
$41,400,000,000,000 = 41 trillion, 400 billion.
Not "-41 teradollars."

Using the standard Mega/Giga/Tera unit metrics (which he covered using both "million US dollars" and "megadollars."

Using the previously-established "megadollars" unit, he thus correctly uses "~41 teradollars." *
For the purpose of multiple units and conversions, I dare say his approach is fitting.

*note: It is difficult to notice, but I tried to bold the tilde (~). You used "-41" which would be read "negative 41 teradollars."

He used "-" in the image and did not use a tilde. That was the actual fail in the source image.

Code:
             $1,000 = 1.0 kilodollar
         $1,000,000 = 1.0 megadollar
     $1,000,000,000 = 1.0 gigadollar
 $1,000,000,000,000 = 1.0 teradollar
$41,000,000,000,000 = 41.0 teradollars
$41,400,000,000,000 = 41.4 teradollars
Not "-41 teradollars."

Oh, well :hmm:

I didn't get up close to the monitor, and for some reason it appeared to be a tilde (upon closer inspection, I see you are indeed correct).

However - you had to type ALL of that, only to point out the issue with it not being a tilde.

This is actually all moot. Let's take a closer look at the text that leads up to "-41."

It should NOT be a tilde, after all. It should be a hyphen (or a minus sign, or otherwise represent a negative value).

In this example, 1 Hitler represents a loss of 41 teradollars. Or, to be precise, as this is something that would surely bother you: a loss of 41.4 teradollars.
This can also be written as thus: 1 Hitler = -41 teradollars.

You are correct.

"1,000 dollars" is not the same as "-1 kilodollar," but I just noticed there was another "-" before the line wrapped (both amounts are negative). The image is correct. I'll try to make a version that's more readable...

After I jizz on my chest I usually lay there for a minute having a deep thought....and then I wipe it off and go back to work.
