So I goofed? I saw smoke and saw a cigarette pack. Everything else about the scene grabbed my attention, I didn't ever look at the candle. I wasn't even really sure there was any kind of "this thing is on fire" item on top of the cake.

So it's a sparkler. Cool. Additional points.

Sort of. WASD keys have long been used as Up, Down, Left, Right in PC games so that you don't have to move your keyboard over and it will have other keys all around for other functions. Many gamer keyboards have ways to distinguish them, like lighting them up with a different backlight color. The Alienware M11x R3 I am typing this on has the "Alien letters" drawn on WASD right next to the normal letters and all the other keys have standard letters/symbols only.

I'm guessing that those keys are so that you can get rid of the gamer customization. The key caps aren't what wear out mechanically and if the face/writing wears off then they are calling themselves out for doing something else wrong.

The ring has prongs so I assume it's for pulling keys, though I don't see how it helps.

The caps have no extra gamer crap on it like WASD keys on other gaming keyboards so it seems more likely to me that they are standard caps to replace gaming-customized caps and not extras for replacing worn keys. They would do nothing for replacing a worn key mechanism like you imply.

I answered and solidified the gaming relationship in case you really were the only one who didn't know but I answered because you asked and I think I have the real answer for why the caps are there. No one else gave my answer (standard replacements for custom gaming caps).
