Hamsters and guinea pigs are really resilient. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but rodents like that can take a 30 FT fall and not get hurt.

This is Oliver, my daughter's ferret (he's getting a bath in the pic):

Oliver is very adventurous, and loves to explore. One day my daughter's bedroom window screen wasn't secured all the way, and he jumped up in the window, squeezed though the screen opening, and fell from the second floor down into my grape vines in our back yard.

My daughter screamed, ran downstairs, and out the back door. I was like "WTF is going on???"

I run outside after her, and I see Oliver with his back arched and jumping back and forth playing in the grass. It was like he was saying "AGAIN! AGAIN!"

When I was younger we kept 2 female ferrets -- Thelma and Louise. Those critters are nigh indestructible.

I had an iguana growing up that we would let run around my bedroom with the door closed (since we had dogs and a cat). On warm sunny days he would love to sun himself on that gap between a window and the screen with the window open and screen in. One day I turn around and he isn't there and there is a hole in the screen just big enough for his body to fit through. Sure enough he clawed his way out. This happened in September timeframe in NE Ohio and we were starting to get frost at nights. So we put up fliers, searched all around, couldn't find him, and figured he was dead after two weeks of him being gone.

Well our neighbor mowed lawns in the neighborhood and happened to see a tail sticking out from the AC unit of the house he was mowing. Turns out it was him, and he was alive. Took him to the vet and he was in pretty good shape, although had to put him on some supplements and such. He ended up living another few years that I know of. Unfortunately we had to move and couldn't keep him so gave him to a new owner that had experience with iguana's and a friend of a friend.

But we were all really surprised that A) he survived a 20 ft fall, B) survived 2+ weeks in NE Ohio on his own finding food and such, and C) made it through nights where it was frosting and getting into the low 40's.
