Obviously you don't come to the counter with 20 bags of fruit and veggies. No shit it's stupid easy if you have all the numbers memorized from previously working there, or if you're a fattie that never buys produce its simple to scan barcodes.

It is not simple to find and enter 20 produce numbers. It is much more simple to hand them to someone that enters them daily.

Uh... every machine I've used has a an alphabetical list of items, with big pictures, in a grid where you start typing in what you're buying and it narrows down the list as you type. Then you tap the right picture/label, enter quantity or weigh it on the scanner, and you're done. It's really, really easy. There's a button on the main screen that says "look up item". And if you want to be even faster the codes are on big, colorful stickers that are on practically every fruit and some vegetables.

You must have never really used self-checkout or live in the boonies if you have both no self-checkout and machines that rely solely on numbers... do the checkout lines still use mechanical registers? Lol.

This company is a joke. They're not selling anything - they're a data mining company dressed up as a club warehouse store with affiliates. Once again, you are the product.

Who cares? As long as they have good prices, what does it matter if they know that I like to buy lots of hard drives or gadgets?

Wonder if you can make requests for items. First item I'm requesting is the 55 gallon lube barrel from Amazon.

FYI: Membership is now free. And if like myself, you had used a coupon code for a year free membership already. You are upgraded to a free shipping pass, that waves the $35 minimum required otherwise.

Leveraged a coupon they had for $10 off a few weeks back and bought a few things. The savings stack as you add more to your cart. Made out well on the deal. Will definitely be adding them to my list of places to price check before buying online.

Amazon charges tax, and Newegg has been kicking their butt on most of the computer hardware I have been looking at. Only mention it because Jet is a poor alternative in the sector. though some of their deals on what they do have are unbeatable by either of the others mentioned.

One thing I don't like about Amazon is that their search and navigation has always been terrible, especially for PC parts but also for a lot of other categories. I'm not a fan of mixing a marketplace with the main company, either, an approach I hate even more when Newegg copied it.

Going to try Jet now that membership is free. I don't like membership clubs because you feel obligated to get the most out of your membership by buying more (sunk cost fallacy). I definitely noticed myself ordering a lot more stuff I didn't absolutely need on Amazon because of that.

Newegg has been beating Amazon pretty handily on 90 percent of the PC parts I have priced lately. And no sales tax unlike Amazon, which can be significant on bigger purchases.

Jet has a long way to go in many areas, and they are primarily a marketplace, it seems. Everything I got was from other sellers. Did not have any issues, but shipping can be staggered due to it, a real low point.

- Sort by price:

$5.37
$6.53
$8.92
$4.59
$10.54
$7.09

- "Where's the drop-down to select the number of items per page?.....oh, this is evidently 1998. They don't have that, as it might bog down my mighty 56k connection."

Agreed. I wish Newegg would be Newegg, and stop trying to be Amazon.
Done with your computer parts shopping? Buy a football, a deck of cards, a 240pk of diapers, and a frying pan.

ordered an SSD on Jet.com

Came in the worse packaging I've seen. It wasn't in a box but wrapped in bubble wrap and what looks like a black trash bag tied horribly around it....so sad. I hope it still works...

anyone else notice that the "extra savings" fluctuates DOWN sometimes? looking to place my first order and I have about 15 things in my cart. most of the time, the more you add, the bigger the savings on the next item becomes, but sometimes it drops. wtf is that?

and apparently a 20 item in your cart limit? is this for real?

Or you can just buy from B&H Photovideo and avoid taxes. AFAIK Jet.com still charges sales taxes in most locales.

I'm tired of slooooow order processing because I'm not a prime member. I don't expect 2 day shipping, but when an item has a same day delivery option, it's f'ing stupid that it takes 3-4 days for my order to process before it ships. I also don't expect my processing to be as fast as Prime members, but it shouldn't be 3-4 days slower either. They do this so I'll sign up for Prime, I understand that's how business'es operate but it's shitty. There's really no reason an item I order at 8AM on a Monday doesn't get processed until Thursday and ships out MAYBE Friday. This has happened more and more to me in the past 6 months. Newegg, bodybuilding, com, autogeek.net and most of the other sites I regularly order from pretty much always have my order processed and shipped out the same day, usually in a few hours. Bodybuilding.com's about 19/20 for having my shit at my door the next day and they're not even in my state. Newegg's about 49/50. Yeah they all do a lot lot less business, but Amazon has a fuck-ton more employees. Autogeek.net will even upgrade me to 3 days shipping for free if I ask and I'll get a package ordered on Monday (they're in FL) delivered to me in Cal on Wed, like clock work. Non Prime on Amazon? I've got shit 2 days after ordering it, and I've had shit take 10 days. Many of the items offer same day shipping (warehouse is about 20 miles from me) so it's not a distance thing.

Yeah, this is why I eventually signed up for Prime, and share it with 4 other people (completely legal per Amazon's terms). I'd have this happen from time to time, but then it happened two or three times in a row. The last computer I built ordered from Newegg and Amazon the same day, Newegg took 2 days, Amazon literally took 28 days so my return with Newegg was basically over by the time I got my Amazon order. Further I had to call them twice and got the normal runaround about how I picked the slow shipping and it was within their estimated time, complete bullshit I got it the day after the postmark.

Before prime I'd say 1 out of 5-6 orders would take longer than 5 days to process, sometimes more than 15.

Even with Prime some warehouse will process and ship over the weekend and others won't. It is really annoying to order two items at the same time and one shows up Saturday/Sunday and the other shows up on Tuesday.
