Screw that...for $26,700 I'd get a "base" 350Z which is basically loaded anyway. The 350Z ownz that ugly little biatch WRX

Try driving that 350Z in the winter and they'll be pulling you out of a ditch. Anyway, as a WRX owner for about 9 months now, I can honestly it's a very high quality, mundo cool car. It's a head turner (not very common, and that air scoop really gets people looking at you), it's FAST, and you really get a lot for your money.

Oh yeah, Jettas are also GHEY:
Voted #1!!!

Comparing a Jetta and a WRX is not even funny. The flat 4 engine is used by only two auto manufacturers in the world. Porsche and Subaru (even though Porsche is owned by VW). With a wrap like that you know they mean business. What beats me is that VW has yet to use the flat engine configuration on any of their cars. As for preformance the WRX is hands down the best bet. I personally enjoy the outside. I think it adds distinction to this car which has been underplayed by the non-rally informed American public. This car is what companies try to get in a sports car but have to sacrifice something somewhere and somehow Subaru did it all. I belive that if the STI version hits our shores along with the EVO VII all those civic and acura owners will cower in fear. But until that day comes let them have their fun. Afterall when all is said and done its just a honda civic.
So until this coming Feb. I will be content with no car, but when the 11 th rounds the bend so will I in my WRX while those little civics slide out of control.

Porsche and Subaru (even though Porsche is owned by VW)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always heard that Porsche isn't owned by any of the major auto companies. They might collaborate with VW, such as with the Porsche SUV also being sold as a VW, but at their core are independant.

They're bringin over the EVO 8... I hope they get rid of that ugly "pontiac" nose insert... stupid Mitsubishi... it better have Brembos & ACD/AYC. :|
If you got 37k burning a hole in your pocket and want a real EVO VII, try HERE

The WRX will rip most any Jetta a new one... talking stock for stock. From a stop, AWD launch will 0wnZ... from a roll, superior hp...
The Jetta is just a bigger, heavier, less manuverable GTI to me... the 1.8T is a sweet engine

There's no big deal to be had about the boxer layout... the 4G63T competed just fine with the EJ20 Scoobs.

WRX's are nice, but they are EVERYWHERE up here in the AK. I would take a 1.8t Jetta any day over the WRX. Throw a chip in there and have some fun! Save about 5-6 grand too.

round here, jettas are as much girl cars as the cabrio's used to be. I'd drive the gti or the passat, but the jetta is a chick car, imo. I like the look of the wrx and I would love to have one. I was checking out to see what prices might be for a used one, but there aren't too many around, found a blue one that about 21k with about 4k mileage. I'm not gonna be buying for another few months, so maybe there will be a couple out there that I can take a look at.

I like the WRX wagon ALOT also however, with this car I am looking to keep it ALONG time(diesel lasts) and I like the durability and fuel economy of the TDI engine, jetta wagon tdi just works alittle better for me than the WRX wagon.

I'd get the Jetta too and I like the Jetta wagon TDI a lot. It gets almost 50mpg !!! That really turns me on, and German engineering and quality control blows away Japanese. The WRX has character and is supposed to be a lot of fun to drive, but I like VWs.

I agree with you completely.

As for price of an Impreza, I just spoke with my cousin 2 days ago and he actually just purchased the 2003 model, no problems. He bought the hatch for $23 w/upgraded alarm, sound, and had them install leather seats. Nothing else. Didn't seem too hard for him to get. He lives in the Bay Area BTW.

How can u even compare the WRX to the jettta
For one the wrx has 265 hp roughly 50% more than the fastest jetta, and then there is the sticker price of $35000 i guess ud have a hard time getting a jetta up to 35000.... (although its possible)

porsche is half owned by the porsche family, and the rest is common shareholders, individuals and institutional investors alike. and the porsche engine is a flat-6.

the rabbit was replaced by the jetta. similar sized car. i guess it was better than the mitsu POS my family had after it but the rabbit wasn't all that great.

Umm....the new jetta gli's have 201hp (6speed manual) with the vr6 engine option and the 1.8T engine puts out 180hp stock. Chip the 1.8T engine and you're looking at 210hp, 250 ft/lb torque, to the wheels.

Oh yeah, theres also the little thing that the WRX does not have 265 horses, rather 227. So I guess your arguement really maes no sense at all

WRX = fugly. Thats the only thing keeping me from getting one. Those things are SO damn ugly. Plus they are a bit stripped down on the inside. You can't even get leather!!! Theres a reason my wife got a Maxima SE

My best friends wife has a VR6 Jetta and it's NICE. Black on black leather and it drives great.

<Try driving that 350Z in the winter and they'll be pulling you out of a ditch.> Why is that said everytime the WRX is brought up. Apparently you're an idiot who can't drive in snow. I've driven Mustang GT Shinomi Boss's & Ford Lightning's in the snow and never wrecked. It's not the car that causes the accident, it's the idiot who can't drive in the snow. Plus it only snows here 2-3 times a year. Thats a rediculous argument. I stay home during those days

I'd take a 350X or G35 over both those cars. But if i had to choose either, definately the Jetta, much nicer interior.
