Jetway 939GT4-SLI - which HS/F?

Hey, anyone here big on heatsink/fan combos and know how well they fit on boards? I'm going for a 2x1GB setup right now but I want to be able to throw in two more sticks of 1GB memory a few years from now and I want to make sure that the heatsink/fan doesn't block any of the memory slots on my Jetway 939GT4-SLI board.

I plan to do modest overclocking, nothing extreme and it'd be nice to have a relatively quiet system.

I know very little about this but I have a random list of good-seeming HS(/F combo)s in more or less the same price range: Zalman CNPS7700-Cu, Zalman CNPS7000B-CU, ZALMAN CNPS7000B-ALCU 92mm, ZALMAN CNPS7700-ALCU 120mm, ThermalRight XP-90, Thermaltake VENUS 12. I am very open to suggestions.

Thanks for any help.

shameless bump...

surely someone knows a good deal about hs/f combos. At least, outside of the context of the Jetway mobo?

According to a post on the EVGA forums, Zalman HSFs are not compatible with the 133-K8-NF41-AX motherboard due to plastic pins securing the HSF bracket on the rear of the board

Since this Jetway board is nearly identical, does it mean Zalman HSFs won't work with it?

Grab the Thermaltake K8 steel backplate designed for Gigabyte mobos from jab-tech.com. In fact, grab the XP-90 while your'e at it too

Oops... make it Thermalright. For 3.95, it won't set you back much

Thanks for the heads up! Yeah, they do appear to be, more or less, the same board. I haven't received it, yet, but when I do I will post an update as to whether or not it has the same plastic pins.

It shouldn't really be a problem, though. I was kind of gravitating in the direction of the XP-90 anyway, if only, because everyone suggested it. The XP-120 seems like overkill even if it does allow me to put a quieter (120mm) fan on it. Also, it being bigger, I can't help but wonder if I'll run into memory slot interference.

Well, umm, that's why Zalman supplies a replacement backplate for their coolers. Just take the stock backplate/bracket off and put Zalman's on. Voila! Installed. I've got the 7700 on my EVGA SLI mobo and all is well. Just install the RAM first.

I think the problem with these two (arguable) boards is that the back plate isn't really removable? It's got these plastic connectors of some sort, so you'd have to actually rip apart the bottom, screws, backplate and all to put in a new one. At least, that is my understanding. I could be mistaken.

I have the Zalman 7700 with the 120 mm fan myself on this board, no problem installing it at all with the provided backplate but definitely install the memory first, at least the first slot.
