Sure enough, the damned clocks revert back to default after applying changes in ATITool. I don't remember that occuring in PowerStrip?[/quote]

I got that same message and my clocks also reverted. I did as the message suggested and got the "patched" drivers and now my clocks stay put.

My mobo, an EPoX 8RDA+, has an AGP voltage adjustment in the BIOS. Am I correct to assume that bumping up that voltage will increase the memory voltage? Will it "overvolt" any other parts of the video card? I've bumped up the voltage on both cpu's and ram but, with each of them, it was obvious what was being overvolted. To me, AGP voltage is a bit more vague.
I don't think the DRAM voltage is dependent upon or tied to the AGP voltage, any more than increasing the CPU voltage would affect the DIMM voltage on any mainboard.

It might be something that can be altered in the card's VGA BIOS. Or it may be fixed in the hardware.

An overclocking update.

ATITool got my card to a max core speed of 413MHz. I combined that with my max memory speed of 239MHz and ran the 3DMark05 and 3DMark01SE benchmarks at stock and OC'd speeds. I have a 3200+ Barton system. Here are the results:

3DMark2001SE

9391 => 11304 (a 20% increase)

3DMark05

1038 => 1293 (a 25% increase)

For reference, my Ti4200 (128MB) scored about 12300 in 3DMark01SE at stock timings.

I conclude that this Jetway card, when overclocked, is comparable to the stock Ti4200 in DX8. The card's advantage over the Ti4200 is that it is also DX9 capable. Although I haven't tested it, I've heard that Radeons (i.e. this Jetway) will also be better with AA.

If you're thinking about moving up from a Ti4200, your reasoning (IMHO) should be to get DX9 capability (and better AA?) and not for a speed improvement.

Here are my scores:
2.4 P4C @ 3.2 w/ 250 mhz FSB
512 DDR @ 250 mhz
Jetway 9600 w/ ATI Catalyst drivers 4.10

3DMark03
2481 - stock
3019 - overclocked 450 core 225 memory 21% increase in performance

3DMark05
926 - stock
1183 - overclocked 450 core 225 memory 28% increase in performance

Max stable overclock I have seen is about 460 core and 230 memory. From ww4397's post it seem that you will be able to push the core much further with some additional cooling. Even if you figure the $65 spent ont he card and the $15 on the cooling this one decent video card combo for $80. One happy camper here.

Unless the games are DX9, in which case the 9600 should easily out-perform the Ti4200. 3DMark2001 SE is mostly DX8 (if not entirely DX8), so its a good indication of DX8 performance only.

Looks like Newegg has raised the price and is charging a shipping charge:

$69 + $0.99 = $69.99

They have refurbed Rosewill versions for $67 shipped. I wish Newegg didn't pull an Amazon on this.

Rosewill one is 128-bit, and 128MB. They had a 256mb one for $76 shipped, but it's OOS as of 10/25.
