I think a better comparison for Jewel is Liz Phair. both had debut around the same time('93 - '95) and their writing style is somewhat similar.

Like I said--I totally get it and understand her spiel, but it simply isn't for a mature, experienced audience. Jewel rights to an older, wizened crowd.

Now, I would not be surprised that if Taylor keeps on trukcin for another decade or so, and remains a talented writer (becomes a bit more versatile, though), she would be writing relevant stories. the simple fact of it all: SHE JUST HASN'T LIVED LIFE.
