The Palestinians have forced a heavy handed government out of Israel because of their terrorist actions. Every time a moderate government is put in place in Israel, and concessions are offered, the Palestinians turn them down and attack.

Israel has the means, both conventionally and nuclear to wipe out each and every country in the middle east. Their military is far superior to any of the countries surrounding them. Do you need a little history lesson? Egypt and Syria both tried to invade and take over Israel. Israel not only repelled those attacks, but bothed them both back well into their own countries. Israel was perfectly capable, and within their rights, to wipe out both those countries. But chose not to.

So, what proof would you like to offer to the contrary? They have had the opportunity, and chose not to do exactly what you said.

You forget, Israel's only friend is the US, and even though she might be strong, she ain't strong enough to take on the rest of the world, and I'm not sure how ready Americans would be to start WWIII for a country that has been of absolutely NO benefit to us. Just because they have the means to obliterate and havn't done it doesn't mean they don't have the desire to. I don't really know if they do and you don't really know that they don't, and that is that.

And when the Palestinians started a one sided cease fire and stuck to it for several weeks Sharon intensified the attacks/raids on Palestinian land, agreed on more settlements, and came up with that nice wall of his. Just cause you are Sharon's bitch doesn't mean he is infallible.

Without US assistance the world will move to stop nothing. Europe refused to stop genocide in their own backyard (Yugoslavia) without the assitance and participation of the US. Russia lacks the resources or the will power to get involved in external conflict, China lacks transport and the will. Who is left? Who is going to stop it if the US refuses to become involved? Your naive if you think the world would act to stop anything Israel did with force of arms. The absolute worst thing the UN or any nation would do would be would be to impose sanctions.
