I think the last time I had an oil change done there the attendant's name was BOGO AR. What a coincidence.

Well maybe with the combine 2 for 1 you might get lucky and get the oil filter changed once during those services

On a side note I worked at one of those quick lubes, not jiffy lube, during my teen years and I never witnessed charging for a service that was not performed. However you did receive pressure from management to up sell other services but I'm glad I never recommended or sold something that was unneeded. However this was 10 years ago and I can easily see the greed progressing to where it's at today.

Just for reference I still change my own oil today and have strong reservations recommending these places just from things I have seen.

Also I agree that these guys should not be labeled as mechanics that work at these places. I was making a little over minimum wage when I started and had some experience via college while the norm is none. Not that these people are bad people, I still spend time with my 2 friends I met there and we all moved on to bigger and better things, but just be aware the only difference between the workers at Jiffy and the employees at In N out are the uniforms

The last time I went to a Jiffy Lube they forgot to put the oil back in... Never again....

Go there at your own risk!

Jiffy lube always puts too much oil in my car...usually 1 to 1.25q too much.

I always tetll them to check....but they don't... often I'll leave the car during lunch, pick up after... the car is parked for 20+ min...I check the oil only to find it wwaaayyy over the H mark.

I call the "mananger" over and tell him to fix this... and ask for a discount on my service.... usually I get out of there for under $30.

My $.02

After reading the articles, I'll go someplace else. It look like they are still trying to fix thier problem.

anywhere you can go you can have the same problem! with bigger companies youll see more, but youll never hear about smaller companies. just check your dipstick before you drive away. if you drive away and you think there's a problem, stop! dont keep driving. ive even seen an oil filter left off from the honda dealership! now how did they pressure test that one?

Yes it is. It's just that their seach tool sucks a** and is not in alphabetical order.

Scroll through all the M's and you'll get to it eventually.

Couldn't agree more! I wouldn't let ANYONE change the oil in my car, my wifes car or my kids cars even if they did it for free. As a matter of fact in 98 I bought a new car that came with FREE oil changes for LIFE. I just got rid of it last year and never once took it back to the dealer for an oil change (or anything else for that matter). It's nice to have peace of mind knowing that at least you have the right oil, the right amount of oil and the right oil filter in your car. Plus the fact that you know your filter and drain plug are tightened correctly.

One time a JL technician brought a really dirty air filter and told me that I need to have it replaced. Then I noticed that the air filter he showed me is a different shape that the one my car used. I told my friend about it and they all shared similar stories.

well considering walmart's only charging like 18 bucks for oil change, jiffy lube BOGO is just regular price that everyone else's charging.

why risk your car for such small savings? I never went back after the first bad experience, it's just too suspicious that they can finish my car's oil changes in 5 mins. I asked them why so fast, they answer because the engine is hot, the oil just dump right out. But when I check the oil stick, it's over filled, thats due to they don't empty out the old oil and add new oil at the spec amount. Then it's over filled with old+new oil in the engine.

get ur own jack and stands, after that it only cost you $25 in synetic oil + cost of good oil filters. still cheaper than JL $30 for some UNKNOWN OIL.

Sadly - it only takes one bad report to screw up other places which actually are honest.

I agree with others - do your own oil change. It really isn't that difficult and it doesn't take that long.

I would... but my warranty requires some type of proof that it is being done. That said, JL is much too expensive nowadays.

I do my own oil and am under warranty too. When I bought it I knew I would never bring it in for oil changes since I can do it myself. I asked what I should do in this case, and they said just keep your oil change receipts and mileage in a log book. That should be good enough.
