I was more shocked by the district manager, what a complete tool.

I'm guessing that district manager had a lot to do with this...while I dislike Jiffy Lube and never go there, I doubt they're ALL like that.

This is not the first time Jiffy Lube has been uncovered. Dateline, 20/20, Primetime, etc have all done investigations in the past to uncover the dirt in the Lube.

This is why I change my own oil and transmission fluid. I know that when I do it myself, it is done right and I NEVER have to worry if the oil drain bolt/oil filter is loose or stripped. I know that it is dirty, messy but after doing it for all my motocycles and cars for over 30 years, I will continue to do so eventhough I can afford to send it out.

this is exactly why anyone I know.. if they mention they're going to jiffy lube to get an oil change... I tell them to run far far away. changing your own oil FTW! of course, I enjoy working on my car.. so I'm biased.

my roommate just gets mad at me when i tell him not to go to jiffy lube, he then spends a lot of money there getting his oil changed and whatever else they say, while i spend $20 at the local shop and they let me watch as they do it.

I stopped going there years ago after I went to another place right after going to Jiffy Lube and discovered that they WEREN'T actually doing the work they were paid to do (example: greasing the bearings).

I never take my car to Jiffy Lube and never will. In fact the only time i take my car in some place (Local Mechanic whom i have the utmost trust and respect for) is when there is no way for me to do it myself. Most people dont know how easy it is to change the Oil, or Fuel Filter and stuff. More times than not you can DIY for much much much less money.

Why couldn't the news crew have called the police. That is fraud and those people are stealing money. Could the police not have arrested those maechanics?

Wow just saw that video. I only take my cars in for oil change. I don't think I'm going to do that again. I'll just have to wake up real early to take it to a real repair shop on my day off.
