His show is on now. I've just started watching it lately, and I'm impressed! Anyone else watch him? (CNBC, Mad Money)

CNBC, take a look at it now if you aren't at work. He talks about the stock market for an hour. Giving good tips on what to buy. He also has about a 15 minute segment called the "lightning round", where people call in and he tells them what to do with their stocks. In fact, the "lightning round" starts after the commercial break.

I've actually heard there's sort of a "Cramer Effect" now because of his show. After being mentioned, the stock will jump, then drop off as everyone sells it.

Since Google Finance makes it so easy to make play-money portfolios, I added one of his suggested stocks (SNY) to my portfolio the day after he mentioned it. With 100 shares, I have $290 in profit right now.

On an unrelated note, I added a local company to my portfolio just to track its progress - up almost $10 in the last week, it's been doing really well since the IPO. Wish I had bought in when it got started, I'd have doubled my money easily now.

You have to respect this guy though! He came from NOTHING in Jersey. He lived out of his car in his younger years. And he worked his way up to where he is now! RICH!

Jim Cramer is hilarious to watch, as long as you don't get sick from all the camera cuts.

Pretty good show, but you have to be able to bear with his personality.

But yeah, like someone else mentioned, there's this Cramer Effect happening a lot now. Is it good or bad? You decide.

I can't watch the guy, he makes my blood pressure go up just having him on my TV. I did hear another financial analyst say that if someone actually did make the moves that Cramer suggested they would be broke.

i cant stand watching the guy, he makes me want to visit his studio with a hammer.

Why?

i just find him terribly, terribly annoying. ive tried tuning in a few different times, i havent been able to watch him enough to know anything about him, except that his personality, at least on that show, bugs the bejesus out of me.

It's true, I read his book..."HOLY COW THE BOOK!!!!"....and during the 2000 stock decline he and his clients lost somewhere around $139million. But he claims by the end of the year he had regained $230mil putting him plus $91 million for the year.

The house of pleasure

If you are learning to invest, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THAT LUNATIC AS POSSSIBLE!

he is not an ivnestment guru. He is not there to help you. he is there to entertain andtherefore get viewership and therefore get advertisers to advertise and tehrefore to make a big fat pay check.

his book title is the ultimate in irony. "Sane investing in an insane world". Just ask yourself, is that guy sane?

Cramer is strictly a pump and dumper. He hypes stocks his fund owns, bashes the one's his fund shorts, etc. Use his show as a contrarian indicator and you can make some money. After he pumps something expect it to get a little immediate pop. Wait for it to go up and then short it.

It's not true. That guy, on par, underperforms the markets. You can find web sites that track him. He's not that special.

Fund managers don't listen to him for a reason.
