Be careful who you quote.
Ah. He's a troll not worthy of intellectual discussion?
Be careful who you quote.
Citation please.
What we do know is that AMD didn't have a replacement ready.
I dont think Zens performance matter much if Keller was there or not. The R&D budget however got a huge impact on that.
Could history be repeating itself with Zen?
But how can this be true, Keller is god himself!
Kellers sudden departure sure isn't putting any points in the positive basket.
How does a reply prove that he isn't a troll, while also proving the guy who replies is the troll? But yet you could be bothered to reply. Who's the troll?
Why are you so obsessed with bashing AMD? It's really weird. There is nothing to take, either positive or negative from this thread. It's practically soap drama on a forum.

I believe I have heard this 'argument' before.
"You are the racist, because you pointed out something racist!"
I am not saying the guy is or isn't a troll, because I don't know, and really don't care, but some members are suffering from extreme bias.
I feel old, I've been working with guys on that list
Dont bother with INTERNET STRONGMAN 1# and 2#, just add them to ignore.
I just recieved a free copy of the Zen reference design... sweet.
If you truly did, I would pay you with my Retina MacBook Pro Late 2013 13" with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, My 64GB Space grey iPhone 6, an iPad 2 64GB with 3G, an iPod touch 4th gen 32GB and an iPod nano with 16GB of storage. Did I mention the three free cases for the laptop, 4 for the phone, two for the iPod touch and three for the iPad? You would also get all the wires that came with them...
the 'wires' got me. Sold.

Ahem...
Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster, another former Apple executive, will lead Keller’s team in the interim, the company said.
I know he left, I meant how do you know this is bad for AMD / Zen? We don't know the details of his return to AMD, what the expectations were, or the details of why he left. It seems Apple, Samsung, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, etc. somewhat regularly have people swapping in and out between the companies.
I only expect Zen to perform as the R&D budget dictates.
You got 2 options.
1. He got fired.
2. He quitted unexpected.
Pick one.
He was a person hyped to the sky by the ADF.

2 also includes the possibility, that he got a call and has been offered an interesting option. (to add some color)You got 2 options.

it's basic cause and effect.
Keller helped design the k8, left amd and the k8 was horrible.
Keller worked for apple on their soc designs, left apple and the apple axx were horrible.
Keller then joined amd again, led the zen design, then left, so we know it will be horrible.
Now he's just started working for samsung. Poor samsung. Didn't they check out the guy's history - the trail of cpu design destruction he's left in his wake is worthy of an internet forum flame war. If only we had cpus designs fast enough to fuel the flames.
/sarcasm

Wait, so the guy who AMD fans treat like a god didn't actually create the successful (performance-wise) K8?
Correct.
