Not a fan of Jimmy Johns. 9 bucks for a shitty sub is too much for my blood. Ill go to Subway and pay 5 bucks for an equally shitty sub and spend the 4 bucks elsewhere.

The only reason to go to JJ is that it's open til about 4AM.

JJ after a hard night of drinking = WMK

One of my roommates used to work at jimmy johns in college. We used to take all of the "buy 13-get-one-free" sub cards, and stamp them all. me and my brother ate for months using these cards. We just had to avoid the manager if he was working the drive thru window...

They were alright sandwiches...I wouldn't have paid for one, though...

Firehouse is the best. I moved out of Texas when they started up there, and man I miss 'em.

I'm alwyas a bit skeptical when a restuarants only real marketing scheme is how fast they can deliver them.

My coworkers love Jimmy Johns. I just think it's about as boring as a sub can get. At least Subway has bread with some flavor baked into it and some sauces to mix things up (sweet onion, chipotle, honey mustard, ect).

JJ's Vito is the best sub around. I think they used to be cheaper, but their day old bread is amazing! When I was poor in high school and didn't want to go home for dinner thats what I grabbed.

Seriously. People who keep quoting these prices, what the fuck are you ordering?

I get a regular sub for $3.75, and the Gargantuan is only $5.15.

What are you ordering to pay $10? It's like $5 for me for sandwich + drink!

Jimmy John's is great...especially since many of their locations stay open until ~2am. Was the best anti-hangover food ever during my undergrad days after a night's worth of drinking.

The bread is definitely "where the magic happens," so to speak, but their meat isn't bad either. Just swap in dijon for mayonnaise and you're all set.

JJ isn't the worst chain sub out there, that goes to subway in my opinion.

Your best bet at JJ is the actual sandwiches made on sliced bread, those are actually decently tasty and about right price wise.

I've never had a problem, I only rip off half of the wrapper and use the remainder to keep the meat in place. I wasn't some genius who thought of this by himself, thats how I observed others eating them. The only bite that slides around is the last one.

I'm sad, this is the only sandwich place outside a restaurant that makes sandwiches I can tolerate and everyone else hates it. =(

Is there no Potbelly in the area if you have Jimmy John's? What kind of fascist nincompoop would willingly choose Jimmy John's over Potbelly?

interesting, i ALWAYS put the mustard and may on the bread first when i make sammys/subs myself and even with sub rolls never have this issue, it actually annoys me that subn placed put it on the meat/condoments

I always put the condiments on the top piece of bread and it's never an issue. The problem with doing that on a sub is that they put it on both sides of the V, if they used it on one side it wouldn't be an issue. Similarly if they did what Subway does it also wouldn't be a problem.

but I thought you hated the V?

I hate JJs - they don't put anything but Mayo on their subs, so you have to add it after the sandwich is made. They also don't give the option of toasting - no thanks, if I wanted a cold sandwich, I'd make it at home. Hell, they don't even have PICKLES on the sandwiches, they just give you a fuckin spear. Their turkey is tasteless and plain, and their bread is nothing to write home about.

Now, Which Wich - that place is awesome.

I probably wouldn't care as much if it were like other places that charge 10 cents or a quarter for cheese... but $1.00 for a couple of thin slices? C'mon. Tell me at least before so graciously throwing it on my sub w/ a smile.

Nah, they're not good at all. Poor value for the money, and they're just plain bread/meat. Nothing special. Penn Station is probably my current favorite sub place.

I get almost any sub from there sans tomato and mayo (I've just always thought they were gross) and a water. Sometimes I'll get extra meat for 1.50 or whatever but usually just keep it normal. Pretty easy to spend less than 6 bucks there.

If you have never been to a restaurant before then you should ask "how much extra is that" before you say yes. IMO this is another moan fest of someone that didn't know any better, didn't ask any questions and is looking for someone other than themselves to blame for the outcome.

Jimmy John's food is only slightly better than Subway, Quizno's, and Port of Subs. Since those are the only 4 sandwich joints around here, life is pretty miserable. Togo's needs to expand to Nevada.

Also, the radio and TV commercials for Jimmy John's are infinitely annoying. Even if their sandwiches were good, I'd boycott them for the sheer irritation their adverts cause.

They are nerds, they are forced to buy for everyone in line or get a knucklesamwich.

It's all about food costs...do you live on your own yet? Price out a 12 pack of american cheese at the grocery. Maybe places have rose their cheese price considerably.

Paid $7.50 for a regular turkey today at Jersey Mikes, I think the large is $10.25.

Cheese does not cost $1 a slice.
