Looks conservative on the spark map. WOT advance only 14 deg? is that total or + 10 base mechanical?

For reference I'm running about 22 deg total advance with 8.5:1 17 psi 11.7-ish AFR on 91 octane.

It's very conservative. I'm going to get AFRs dialed in before I start playing with timing.

dude. this looks VERY tempting right now. Its so cool, and looks not too difficult.
Do want, and am [---this---] close to pushing the button and purchasing - just trying to justify it.
Especially because Id probably be the first Mk1.5 with it.
Gah, its just so cool.

I've been told lean above ~4k rpm off boost isn't good for EGT's, so I made some changes.

I need to add fuel to the bottom of the VE table; it's auto-tuning decel off throttle, pulling a LOT of fuel. That's fine off throttle, but if I free rev it's running very lean. I'm going to add fuel back in down there, and then set the car to cut fuel on decel entirely.

Mine was preordered and shipped on release day, and I believe I have the first one running on MSPNP aside from the test car. So, pfft.

I had an MS2 with beta firmware on an FSAE engine :awe:

Though the PNP option is way more better than hacking up a factory wiring harness

Coolant temp went up to 219f the other day, so I bled my cooling system..went out and flogged the piss out of the car today (104f ambient temp) and it held beautifully.

I'm still getting boost drop after a few back-to-back pulls; got on it a few times in second, and the 3rd/4th consecutive time I wasn't making much boost at all. I need to datalog that a few more times and see if AIT is going way up or what....but I need to fix this before I can race - I'll lose power by third gear.

Here's today!

I got it at 236k, I think. One is a local guy with a Gen3 and another from the Midwest with a 1mzfe v6.

MSPNP can do both open loop and closed loop boost control with a $45 solenoid. That's what I'm using.

Blew the air intake temp sensor out of the cold pipe today - car is also overheating after long (~1hr+) drives when I sustain low speeds. It'll cool right down to ~183 on the highway, up to 240f at a stop. It'll drop down while stopped if I rev the engine - going to pull the radiator and see if there's any crap in it, check fins/etc.

I'll probably do a quick compression test too, just for kicks..but I don't seem to be losing coolant, I have no oil in my coolant nor coolant in my oil, so I'm hoping it's fine.

I unplugged the temp sensor so the fan runs 100%. I'm going to pull the radiator and flush it - I haven't flushed coolant completely since I bought the car, and I'm thinking it might be the original (258k) radiator.

Edit: Radiator is in great shape. Hrm. Maybe new coolant, new thermostat, bleed & try again.

Still waiting for the GT3071 to arrive - emailed ATS for an update. I might install my braided stainless brake lines while it's up on jackstands.

I find Ats slow at getting things shipped. the second time I tried to order from them I waited four days for any word from them. after not hearing anything I called and canceled my order - took three calls to get someone on the phone. Scott said it wasn't even processed yet. guess selling small/ single items isn't a priority for them? or maybe they are just overwhelmed.

I would hope they'd get a $2400 order out sooner than later, but maybe not...I'll give them a call later today if I don't get an email back.

Had I known I was going to pick up the V6 car, I'd have stuck with my old turbo - but ahwell...we can't all be fortune-tellers, right?

Edit: OK, my error. They did send me a shipment notification last week - I just didn't notice who it was from (have had kind of a lot of those lately..). It's here now. :awe:
