Hey so I've been in a sales position for too long and want to do what I went to school for. I've been applying to entry level sales accounting job and have had numerous interviews but no luck getting hired. The feedback I've gotten has been "Great guy would have hired him but he lives too far and we feel the commute will burn him out" and "Excellent personality, I really really really liked him, but he's very passionate about his current job and I feel like he might not like accounting. He's really good at sales I can see it in the way his eyes light up when he was talking about his current job. I feel like after 3 or 4 months because of how structured accounting is he would hate this job. I know all he needs is a break."
So, what would your best advice be for me? I always thought being passionate about my current job and role would be a good thing? How do I answer "why do you want to do accounting now that you're a manager and working your way up your current company?"
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!
