Job offer deadline, but have interview set up for dream company after the deadline

I have an upcoming job offer deadline that is not great, but I'm desperate enough to take it. The salary is way low so I was planning to work there and continue looking. The offer deadline is next week.

I received an email for an in-person interview (would have one final interview step after this) for my dream company and job. I tried to get this in-person interview scheduled before the offer deadline, but the scheduling of the team didn't work out and now I have to wait about 1.5 weeks before it happens. The interview is set up for the following week after next.

Is my best option to accept the first offer, try to set a late start date, and renege if I receive an offer from my dream company? I really don't want to renege but I feel that I have no option. I doubt the first company would push back the offer deadline another 2 weeks.

Take the offer on the table. Then take the interview. If the dream company offers the job, take it. Put in your two weeks notice at the current position.

Honestly, people say don't burn bridges, but I say you shouldn't feel ANY loyalty towards a large corporation. Take the job, and also take the interview.

I would take the offer from the first company and set a start date as late as possible. If you do end up getting the preferred job hopefully you'll find out before the actual start date at the other job. Then you can let them know that a better opportunity became available and that you won't be working for them. Works out better since there's no guarantee that you'll get the preferred job.
