I work as a seasoned restaurant manager. New company but doesn't have their "ducks in a row". After failed audits they put me in charge...understand my immediate boss has failed twice and his boss has failed twice. So I'm basically in charge of what my immediate boss should be in charge of. There is no way we will pass as my supervisors are lazy and incompetent and don't do their jobs. I can't fire them as there is no way that I could have trained and replaced them in 30 days time. I can't continue picking up the slack of them and putting in 100% myself. Understand that my wife "had" asked for divorce a month ago, I've been disowned by inlaws and kicked outta the house and living in motel. Before the audit I was the golden boy and basically going to be promoted in 2 years to a Director of Ops position over multiple units. Now it doesn't look good....I have gone from 50 hours a week to over 80+. There is rumor that I will be fired regardless of passing as the supervisors who are lazy are tired of being held accountable and are spreading lies and it is easier to fire one mgr than to lose 2-3 lazy ones. Wife doesn't mind too much if I quit as long as I can make the mortgage payment of new house which isn't much.
Would you rather quit or get fired and why.
I'm thinking quit as fired looks worse on resume....I can handle losing unemployment as I can wait/bartend no problem and make same amount of money within a week or two. Been with company only 4 months and what would you put on resume for reason to leave?
Thanks
